I am a retired Ironworker(35 years Local 7), a lifetime Boston, Mass resident. I am old enough to know better - but don't.
Once upon a time when I worked at a high school they had a KINDNESS DAY. Suggestions on “acts of kindness” were posted. One read…”HOLD THE DOOR FOR SOMEONE”. I saw a group of students heading toward the cafeteria door and HELD THE DOOR. They struggled against me shouting “what are you doing Mr. Lawless”. I replied: “An act of kindness…The sign said HOLD THE DOOR FOR SOMEONE…it didn’t say I had to hold it open.”
As I placed my order at McDonalds the server asked “do you want that here or to go. I slyly responded: “If I eat it here don’t I get to take it with me.”
When my kids and grandkids went to school I told them that if the teacher asks “how much is 1+1” to respond in a very surprised voice “YOU MEAN YOU DON’T KNOW”
Someone had been stealing drinks when the patrons went to the men’s room. One “gentleman” left a note on his glass of stout…”I SPIT IN IT”. When he returned from the men’s room he found another note that read…”SO DID I”.
OK,,,OK...JUST HAVIN' SOME FUN....
