To Comment or Respond to Same

I read a lot of poems and comment on many that touch my heart, or funny bone. This takes some time. As I revel in the comments I receive on my poems I struggle with trying to respond to the comments …… or read others poems and in commenting offer them the same lift and encouragement that the comments give me.

Alas, ‘tis a torturous two step. So, I offer my blanket of thanks to all who have supported me in my years on the Soup…THANK YOU ALL.

For as the old shopkeeper said when asked …”How do you deal with those who stop to look but purchase nothing?”

“The dust of their shoes is profit.”

Love this post John. I often only leave dust as there just aren't enough hours in my day! I add my thanks to yours, for those who read and have less time to comment.

John, I so resonate with your blog! It does take time to comment thoughtfully with encouragement and I do so appreciate the comments I receive. I see this exchange as part of the responsibility I joyfully embraced when joining the soup! Even if I get behind, which is often, in congratulations or commenting I try to be as current as possible with comments. Often I find that my comments become inspiration for a new poem or a contest that I am struggling with but want to enter. Many thanks for your blog. It is appreciated more than you know. Blessings and gratitude.

To do our best to comment within our time restraints, we all struggle. I appreciate it when people take the time, pay it forward, etc.. if we all try to do a bit then that is some thing. We all want to be read and receive comments. We all are poets here. You express the want “to be a good friend” and we all appreciate that, John!

John, I totally understand how you feel about comments and responding, time is not our friend and there is a whole other wonderful life waiting besides Poetry Soup, God Bless, Constance
