A Return From Obscurity to Poetry

I feel as I have been veiled in darkness for months. My surgical recovery has been a nightmare and I have been in constant pain making it almost impossible to write.

I am now on the road to recovery and although still in pain, I am learning to live with it, and am determined to return to reading, writing, and commenting on my favorite site.

Although I have not been a member very long, I have missed your poetry and all you wonderful writers who challenge me to new heights. I look forward to returning and and catching up on all your poetry.

Hi Mac welcome back. Sorry to hear about your pain hope it's over real soon. I'm retired from the AF (1974). I've been writing poetry for quite a while but only since Feb on Soup. Like you I'm limited. I write mostly Rhyme and occasionally Limerick but thats it. Most of the other types of poetry I don't understand. Some I read I have no idea what they are about. I'm not knocking them cause it is my shortcoming. Thats why I don't consider myself a real poet. However I enjoy writing what I write. Get well real soon looking forward to your writings. Ouch! Sorry to hear you have had to experience so much post-op pain, Mac. Perhaps writing again will help take your mind off of it. People never seem to recover as quickly as they thought they would. Welcome back! Love, Carolyn

Speedy recovery Mac and your presence is surely and sorely missed on Soup.. your poetry and contests stir the Soup pot so well and we all sensed the void during your health issues... hope all continues well with your recovery now and the pain will ease up for u... please let us know when u will be posting again.. with luv from the "Sweetheart"
