Heads Up....New Contest

Sunday night, June 6th, on or about 5pm central time, I will post a new contest. The contest will be titled: "Your Best Poem" You all have great poems and I am anxious to take advantage of your kidness in allowing me to read them. Therefore, a heads up in order. Any poem, any theme, any style, any form, any length, anything is acceptable. The only catch, it has to be your best. Now, I am going to set the contest limit at 30 poems, and I am going to put a time limit for submission at 2 days. Hence, another reason for the heads up. If I do not receive 30 submissions on or before midnight on Tuesday June 8th, submission acceptance will close and the contest will consist of the number received. Another reason for a heads up. Search well your poetry my friends. I drool in anticipation. Sunday June 6th, 5PM Central Time "YOUR BEST POEM"

I agree whole heartedly with Carrie. My own best may well not be the one you would judge the best but I have one in mind to post at that magic time which means a lot to me and that is the one I shall choose. Thanks for your contest. Love, Joyce

This could be the hardest contest ever, considering that the poems that may be the closest to our hearts, most meaningful, or personal....wouldn't necessarily be the ones considered "stunning" by other readers. (Sort of like the doctor treating his own ailment....we most likely are too close to the forest to see the "outstanding tree"! I have often been quite surprised, when a poem that I thought was my "failure" often gets more comments than one that I felt so good about.... so...all that being said.....this will be interesting!!!!!! OK Mac will set one of my clocks to remind me to submit one to your contest Sunday at Central Time since I am on Eastern Time... with pages of poems listed now on Soup will need to get started choosing one of the best poems for your eyes to read... searching started... thankxxx for the "heads up" with luv from the "Sweetheart"

I will accept anything. Please remember, I do not know if these poems have won contests before. What makes a poem great to one may be entirely different to another. I love the challenge and feel confident I will know when I read your work how it impacts me both emotionally and creatively. I do not play the games of what others think, I play the games of what I think. Every poem is on equal ground and has the same opportunity to place in my contest. On the other hand ladies, I do love the fire in your hearts.

I'm waiting for your reply to Constance's qustion below. I kind of wish you would make it based on best of a certain theme, Mac, to narrow down the field, and make it easy on yourself as well. The soup is choosing already our best. I would imagine people would just want to submit their poems that Soup chose for the finalists in that contest for July?(and can we do that? I don't even know) Anyway, Mac, I wish you luck with this contest! LUv, Andrea
