Zinging Poems

Premium MemberSinuous in Many Sways

I meander along
      drifting like a ribbon,
            curling in the breeze,
                  bending like a river
            sinuous with the flow
       swing to the beat
swaying left and right
        meandering onward
              sashaying
                    rambling
              winding
        curling
  humming
          zigzag
                 zinging
         singing
  along
      I go
          um

Premium Membertheir lunacy delights

Tiny but mighty
Moving as if deranged
Their lunacy delights

Madness unhinged
Zipping and zinging
Slivers of tiny bits of lightning

They flick and flitter
Glittering in a way only fireflies can
I chase them with my ready jar

Premium Memberanother abcedarian for fun

all automatic alligators arrive arrogantly
barely behave beautifully but brazenly
carousing with creepy cruddy crocodiles
desperately denying despicable wiles
effectively expediting expediency
forever forsaking fruit flies who flee
glaring at grazing gritty grouses
hijacking horrific herbivore’s handy houses
igniting ingenious iguanas in I-o-Way
jubilantly joining jerky jaguars along the way
kibitzing kinesthetic killers from Zion
lollygagging like lively luxurious mountain lions
marvelously marking multitude of mini monkeys
notoriously noting nefarious nodules of displease
ostentatiously opening overt outages in Oregon
providing panda putrid prey Paul just spit on
quarrelsome quicksand quail
rapidly reading registered mail
saying sassing sentences swiftly
turning terrific tarantulas toenails thickly
utilizing underwater undercurrents down under
verifying valid villans' voluptuous plunder
with wild willingness and witchy wonder
‘xacting ‘xactly ‘xtreme ‘xestentialism supreme
yelling youngster’s yips on front of the queen
zinging zealous zealots into zebras galore
end of this abcedarian poem, there is no more.

Premium MemberA Permanent Funk

Been in a bit of a funk lately
Have I finally reached the end
No quatrains, couplets or narratives
No words of wisdom to send

At first I thought, oh I'll be back
Humming along as before
Don't get yourself in a great big flap
Lately I'm not quite so sure

Wishful thinking was part of it
It's lot more serious than I thought
The well's running dry, pretty sure
In a permanent funk I'm caught

Need a great event to inspire me
It's only a matter of time
I'll be back on track and zinging along
And once again I'll be fine

In no time at all I'll be smiling again
So why am I feeling so down
Feel like this old King of the Jesters
Is somehow losing his crown

Town Full Of Sound

Town Full Of Sound

I use to live in
A town full of sound
With Roller Coasters
And Merry Go Round
Horns would blast
To sound an alarm

I use to live in
A town full of sound

I use to live in
A town full of sound
Pinballs were zinging
And barkers would hound
Foghorns were blaring
A mournful fog song

I use to live in
A town full of sound

I use to live in
A town full of sounds
Salt water taffy
Came clacking on down
The bandstand was swinging
Those Glen Miller songs

I use to live in
A town full of sound

I use to live in
A town full of sound
Where all sorts of music
Played all over town
Screech of the crowd
As the Comet roared down

I use to live in
A town full of sound

Premium MemberTwelve Years And Counting

Think I'll design an anti-depression website
Where people can visit when they're down
When their lives aren't zinging along at top speed
And they're continually wearing a frown

Most likely could have used it myself at times
But wife Cathie sure helped me through
As well as all you wonderful people out there
What would I do without you guys too

You brighten my life every single day
Can't wait to read the comments you make
They're always positive so extremely upbeat
It's like eating a piece of chocolate cake

Discovered The Soup about twelve years ago
What a great find that turned out to be
Each day can't wait to get back to my computer
To connect with my friends again woo-ie

amber skies announce autumn
black bats and black cats
costumes line the sidewalks
Dracula climbs out of his crypt
elves, faeries and brownies dance the streets
Freaks are getting on their freak
Ghostly ghouls and goblins chase princesses
Halloween parade is in rare gear
Ideal night for trick-or-treat
Jack-o-lanterns proudly sit
Knives focus in on the pretty ones at hand
Leave some candy for me! Says my aunt Fran
Monsters appear out of the October mist
Noisy neighbors watch from inside their house
Orange and black crepe paper in store windows
Pumpkin pie with whipped cream is in my frig
***** creatures zigzag in and out of walkers
rambunctious teenagers scare the little ones
spidery webs are dangling from many porches
trick-or-treat, smell my feet, give me something good to eat!
Under the bridge scary ghost stories are being told
Vim and vigor oozes out of every Captain America five-year-old
Witches cackle as their green faces wander the streets
‘xtravagant costumes try to one-up the rest of us
Yellow-eyed cats miss nothing
zinging in and out are goblins carrying large sacks

Premium MemberViolets and Moss House Six Faeries and An Elf

illumination is brought to the forest shelf
the oaks commit to another year of life
violets and moss house six faeries and an elf

father sky pines for the day he takes a wife
wondering about mother nature’s ways
the oaks commit to another year of life

the roots of the oaks await a knowing phase
where clairsentience will give them a clear direction
morel mushrooms pepper the ground with praise

a sense of joyful satisfaction and resurrection
bringing the faerie circle into a ring of fire
where clairsentience will give them a clear direction.

there is no hurry, no urgency is alive or dire
zinging sparks of enthusiasm enter the night air
bringing the faerie circle into a ring of fire

sorcery is afoot, queen of magic if you dare
illumination is brought to the forest shelf
zinging sparks of enthusiasm enter the night air
violets and moss house six faeries and an elf

Premium MemberYou Are Not Alone Earthling

Ah, you think you are alone, ha ha; I am in the skies.
Alien awareness always active, yet you do not realize.
Created in the fifties, and meant to last forevermore.
I zoom in on your zoo, zinging with zest, I am Cybore.

I love it that you are unaware, thinking you are alone.
While I snap snazzy photos of you eating or on your throne.
I can see through your pretenses, I can peer through your wall.
You have no idea I am here; not one inkling at all!

Premium MemberLinguini

(Try to sing this one to the tune of MARIA from "West Side Story")

Linguini -
the most luscious cuisine that I’ve ever had.
Linguini, linguini, linguini, linguini.
Oh what flavorful things in that dish make my taste buds glad.

Linguini, linguini, linguini, linguini.
Linguini,
I’ve tasted a dish called linguini,
and now I’ll always wish
to have that creamy dish
again.
Linguini.

Style Parmesan has me singing.
Add garlic and wine and it’s zinging.

I’ll always be craving linguini -
the most luscious cuisine I’ve ever had.

Premium MemberI Love Who I Love Who I Love

Love prances into my heart
Zinging me with her arrows
Twirling my emotions
For I do not choose who I love
It happens naturally, instantly, suddenly

Love causes me heartache when there is a death
Smacking me upside the head
With the realization I cannot fix everything
I cannot fix anything
And I especially cannot fix cancer

Love oozes into my eyes
When my grandchildren come calling
When I get to hug them, when masks are not an issue
Love causes me all kinds of delight
When there is not a pandemic
But love keeps me away from them because of it right now

Love has her own way, makes her own truth,
Love shakes me, makes me, and sometimes breaks me.
Love is all powerful.
God is love
But I love who I love who I love
And nothing can change that
Why would I want to try?
