Yesterday, I stumbled upon my old self.
     Innocence stood 
          abandoned in the face of 
          

One Today

A day may be yesterday,
a day may be tomorrow,
fragments of the past,
and whispers of the future.

But!

Today is not yesterday,
And today is never tomorrow.
Today is the present,
to be lived,
one breath,
One heartbeat,
one moment at a time.

There may be many yesterdays,
and tomorrows are never promised.
But for each daily journey,
you are given only,
one today.

Long Drive from Yesterday

The hours have been driving me,
miles upon miles have sunk the sky,
Florida now hangs from distant cypress trees.

I almost miss the exit ramp,
This kind of waking and sleeping
is controlled by a ghost in my head.

Now I am eyes on the corners
where a flickering sunset
swings between interlaced trees.
Feet juggle over a low flying road,
while tense hands

Laying in a hammock
Swaying back and forth
Reminiscing long gone fun
Remembering what was done.

Poised above the ground
In your eyes are tears
About all the lost years.

watching him in darkest sky
goodbye, with a sigh
does nothing last forever ?

Between Yesterday and Tomorrow

Yesterday has faded away
Tomorrow is an unknown day
One past, the other to come
Twixt the two we dance and mourn

Yesterday holds some mystery
Tomorrow’s hope is clarity
Today, both is out of reach
No matter how hard we seek

Yesterday brought laughter and pain
Tomorrow may bring both again
Filter the past through a sieve
Today is the time to live
