Money

Money by Adejola Joseph
Money
Power
Laughter
Merriment
When money comes power comes
When money comes laughter comes
When money comes there is merriment
Money is everything
Money
When there is no money there is sorrow, sadness and tears
House of money house of merriment
When money comes friends come
When there is no money friends flee
When you have money you are the toast of the town
When there is no money you are a loner
Money comes with its splendour and regality
Poverty with its wretchedness and leprosy
Money is power
Poverty is failure
Money
Work hard to make money
Strive hard to be rich and wealthy
It is the rich and the wealthy that is honoured
There is no grace in poverty and wretchedness
Money.

Horse Color Cannot Be Ignored

Intentions, cryptic, in pockets.
Fiery darts lampooned in sockets.
The bow is a clue; not a sword.
Horse color cannot be ignored.

Wielding war’s arms, removing peace,
Men turn on each other, decrease.
Burning core, where anger is stored -
Horse color cannot be ignored.

Black as soot; rider holds grub scales
In hand; deprivation prevails.
Looking at the day prices soared;
Horse color cannot be ignored.

O the wretchedness of pale green.
Adds plague and wild animals, mean.
The ark, a save; won’t get on board.
Horse color cannot be ignored.

     The splendid, resplendent
           aurora sweeps the inner
                        life.
I stare at gory , leaden
         clouds , unable to deter
                  them.
From causing drops of blood to
run down the shrill , deathless
                         desert.
         A magnificent ,mazy grove
              is painted with colorful ,
              golden threads.
          The unassuming ,
              unflinching morn is
            the incarnation of sedate silence
         The wrathful , woundless
         creek thrives like
               rapturous hues of
                       serenity.
         What's the scope of
        :lifeless wretchedness?
         : dreamed embers?
           : unquenchable longing?
             : weeping anemone?
          The oracular , intricate soul
            shields a shaded woodland
              like a forested daybreak.

Avalanching

Avalanching in this benighted place.
Hollow noise like the roar of an angry bull.
Emotionally desolate, importune of answers.
Feeling castigated, in bleak. Veer not from me oh dear God.

Embedded in avalanche.
I bellow for luminosity.
Seeking comfort in coldness
Heart shattered, sighs echoing. Forgive me for my sins oh dear God.

Broached in a new world of wretchedness I never knew existed.
My visage turning into the seven seas.
Far offshore
As I ebb away with the tides. I fix my eyes onto you oh dear God.

A silent prayer,
Cloak my tribulations.
Let there be oblivion.
And this gloom a phase. Make me whole again oh dear God.

Gestation period
A grotesque routine
Queasiness
Excruciating. Give me strength oh dear God.

Avalanching in this benighted place.
Feeling castigated, in bleak.
Importune of answers.
Why me? Hear my cry oh dear God.

Drunk on Love

Love drove me away from myself,
then at last,
it took me to a garden,
where I could be the roots of beauty.
For so long I fought shadows and reflections,
the innkeeper of my drunken mind
slept behind the bar,
his loud snoring eventually woke me up,
There in that place
She appeared,
as a clearly painted picture
of love made flesh.
She descended then
to kiss
my wretchedness.
A cage door flew open,
doves escaped.
What kind of doves?
They were as white as Her wrists,
yet delicately veined
with blue rivulets.
Within them
the pulse of a constant love
gently beat the hearts
of all those
too sober to love Her.

TAKE MY HAND

TAKE MY HAND
Give me the pieces of your heart,
                    give me your pains .
i am praying for you,
                    just take my hand .
wretchedness is also a teacher,
                    failure makes us trained.
some days are sunday and
                    friday are some
just be in the present ,
                    no need to run.
one day you will gonna sleep tight ,
few days are left no need to fight .
dust off yourself try it again
be sure this time you have my hand

together we shall win the game
i am your friend just take my hand

Richard Vobes, a gentle man with measured tones
Helpful content broadcast to many, inventive mind
Makes often light; on 'you tube' of dark designs palpable as night
Airless, almost we feel, and hear see bad actions
Observe distrust and fear, documented intentions
Of hostile vein, tenseness in multitudes inherent strain
90% the target say just a few, less to share with me.and you ' entitlement averice honed, affluent genre grasps
Sanity is sidlined, health reverseal oxeygenless gasps
Deny life support, its now percived wisdom do you know?
Intellectual nhillisam is systemised, yes savagery is
Suited is tailored, its wretchedness is at a euglogy, despicable action is festering, dispersed worldwide.'
Dear, God keep Richard sane and whole, guide him
Teach him, let more reality be told.'

The Far Distance

The far distance

I remember well the gone days we sat in the corner
of a restaurant for quasi-intellectuals talking about the book,
we were going to write, telling it like it was.
As the evening progressed, fueled by alcohol, we believed
in our uniqueness, come tomorrow.
Walking home, a rented room, the dream was fading
unmade bed, library book not handed, in shattered around
half read and dog eared.
The grey morning and the self-loathing of a misfit trying
to sleep a bit longer, overwhelmed by utter wretchedness.
The white fog of loneliness, cigarettes and coffee.
To escape, half of my life, I have lived in a country not mine
the morning is sunny, the solitude persists the illusion is
a stark reality tempered by mild weather.
No, there is no flight from oneself, but life is what it is.
But the dream continues; sad is the life of exile

Oh, shrill lark, just breathe. You rage too well.
Seek no comfort in wretchedness.

Renounce the gossamer moon, curse starlight
with a breathless voice - if you must - but let love be.

As the saddest tale fades after telling,
undistinguishable kisses fade like dewdrops.

Seasons alter, you will love again and love better
laughing unabashed, at the memory of this gentle injury.

Dear Father Yah

Dear Father YAH,

It's me again, your child, the sinner.
The love of my life is no longer around again.
When that love was present, oh how did I feel like a winner!
Now, it's back to the old drawing board again.

So vividly, I recall you saying, let your heart not be troubled.
I remember mentioning to my love, "You are the only one who can trouble my heart".
Now it is as, my mind easily becomes doubled.
I know this way ought not to be, but now, why is it so difficult to uphold my part.

I'm really feeling as one struggling with wretchedness.
I need to refocus; I need YOUR Help to remain set-apart.
ALAHYM, send YOUR Presence upon me that I may catch it.
For there is nothing else within this universe that will set still my heart...

Dear Father YAH.

Letter To Kenyan Voter

I quit
I throw my hands down
and sit, sometimes

they called for reconciliation without
 justice
They called for justice without
truth
Now they ask for prayer without
confession, umpteenth,
it chafes

 Has dishonesty made you inadequate
to let go the desecration
infringement
negligence
graft
shame of these violations
which bake violence?

Yet another fifth year
our memo calls us to speak

See how they dance
under a canopy of placards
and a forest of words,
a crescendo of noise,
call for peace without unity
hunger hugs not a belching belly
wretchedness forever at
enmity with riches

Fellow man,
the weight been
long and heavy
Le band's gang led
they have a dance,
You got a date, a dicot
conscience, chagrin
It's about time you made
love to your country!

Take a big deep
cast your ballot for
broken toe nails
parched throats
unattended sick
the illiterate
the young dead
wrinkled bellies
and running stomachs

Bow not unto any creed,
tongue, but go forth
eyes closed
and spit into the storm
Puaaah!

Premium MemberThe Pale Moon Emerged From Dark Clouds

Neither your gold gleam; nor bright silvery luster,
O moon, pale, you've gone ball of grey-dust cluster;
Rusted iron-plate? Glamour-gone brass-globe-gate?
Adulterated alloy? You're dull, in each rate...!

Your emergence from dark gloomy clouds resembled,
Skull of crematorium gray-dust assembled;
Ghost-like frightening! Like paint-gone grave disgusting,
Like devil standing in darkness sharp nails thrusting...!

What do you try to tell me my dearest pale moon?
Has my life turned like irregular desert dune?
Has it reached the end of eventide despair-filled?
Have all goodness in it, by wickedness, got killed...?

Whatsoever you might impart; one thing I'm sure.
My pains and sufferings have grown far beyond cure;
Wretchedness, like field mouse, has, in me made his home,
While my happiness, as though homeless, seems to roam...!

There's hope, yet, O pale Moon emerged from dark clouds!
Though darkness, like carbon canopy, gravely shrouds;
Just like it fails to conceal your sharp piercing rays,
Midst gloom, Almighty will open for me new ways...!

Farewell to torment, wretchedness, and uneasiness

The clashing edge is filled with horrendous obscurity

A depressing and sickeningly feeble nothingness

That steers us growingly close to looming doom

You entered my lair again
uninvited I suppose an yet
I welcomed your arousal

why you'd become quite
the trouble maker posing
as the Duke of Hungary

this mere thought of you
the sheer chanting hymns
glorified a selfish need

sorted comforting healing
wretchedness borrowed
yesterdays appetizers by noon

cackling awakened too soon
to withering morbid laughter
gripping a tainted silver spoon
