If you are a gardener who likes to mess with iris
And you are lucky enough to have a winning combination
No one else has every created and shown before
You might be like Ralph Shreve from the Ozarks
His gorgeous purple and yellow iris is named after him
Shreve’s iris, best in show
She was a violinist, a beauty, a daughter, a wife.
Her playing was gorgeous, steady and melodic.
Everything she does shows her talents and abilities.
She was the quintessential person, aware of others.
Kind, generous, and musical, a winning combination.
The principal asked me if I would do counseling with a four-year-old.
I am licensed K-12, but I told her I would.
The issue was hitting.
The child was big-eyed, handsome, and enormously charming.
I told him that as the school counselor,
it is my job to make sure everyone has friends.
He told me he does not have any.
I told him that he could get a lot if he made sure he did not hit anyone.
I also congratulated him on not hitting anyone all day that day.
(He was earning a sticker sheet).
After our talk he said “I’ve got a GREAT idea.”
“What is it?”
“I will kiss everybody.”
Uh-oh. New discussion.
He told me that he has ten brothers and eleven sisters.
so I said “If I say to your Mommy, ‘wow, you have twenty-two children! What will she say?”
“She will say I lied,” he told me “because I am lying.”
He is charming and truthful!
A winning combination if you ask me.
A blank page is
An opportunity
A fresh start
A challenge
A new pen Is
full of itself
Ready to show off
Ready to dance
A writer is
Eager to begin
Excited about all kinds of things other people may miss
Enthusiastic about the little things
A muse is
Imagination on speed
Thrilled to be asked
Willing to have fun
Cranberries
Not that canned glop
That jiggles like jelly
But real cranberries
Turkey
Not a loaf
That does not have a taste
But the real thing
Gravy
Made with turkey drippings
Makes stuffing and potatoes
hot, I dream of it.
warm yeast rolls
With real butter
Satisfying
In a surreal way
Pumpkin pie
Garnished with Cool Whip
Announces
Thanksgiving
Throw in people
Old and young and
Laughter
A winning combination
For jacks or better or two pairs, I just get even money.
When this is the best I get, it is no longer funny.
Each time I try to get a winning combination,
getting unwanted cards causes me some frustration.
What brings me ruin is often my own greed.
A royal flush would be a dandy thing indeed.
However, I fall short by one card again.
I have an ace, king, queen, jack, but no ten.
If this keeps happening, then I'm a fool to play.
I just have to get up enough willpower to walk away.
fried eggs and French fries
a winning combination
just give it a try
I thought I would take a chance the other night.
The move I made turned out to be right.
I scratched the silver coating off the ticket I bought.
Lo and behold, see the winning combination I caught!
I feel like going on a shopping spree.
Hello lottery agent, show me the money!

Jesus can take a melted mess of human corrosion and squeegy it up... form us into a functioning human being with structure and strength; a pillar of hope for others and ourself.
Encourage one another as Christ encourages us....
Service in Christ, Faith and Works is a winning combination!!
