Premium MemberVictorious Dragon

In a field of green where the sky comes down
a curious child with wide eyes is found
excited to find a dragon-shaped cloud
with wings outstretched in a whitish shroud.
It's scales are soft, each like a feather.

The boy suspects its chest is like leather
protecting its brave heart with feathery scales,
a fearless dragon whose deeds never fail.
The boy surmises tomorrow he'll ride
in so much glory on its silvery hide.

my hair weighs six hundred pounds
it is grimy and gritty
I wish it would grow out burgundy

growing old

The pillow queen stokes her empire
her quivering hand follows her letter
to all it may concern

cry in the dark
although she maybe strong,
made out of ploughshares
the sun still flickers

so much has gone already
and little is wept for
growing old
your strands of whitish hair
you may pray like a cygnet
but hopes are fenced

Premium MemberSong of The White Willow No 6: AABB

Venture advances, the future ... occurs,
the White Willow trees, best found by rivers
edge. Salix alba, and 'Tristis' means sad,
hence, 'Weeping', yet the essence seems to add
a picturesque of a draped graceful scene,
nay gloomy but most tranquil, and serene.
The whitish tones of the leaf's undersides
evolved the tree's name. A meter trunk, wide's,
diameter, thirty-meter stretch that
leans caused by sloped limbs that bring its Top Hat
tilted downward. A bow ... accentuates,
or curtsey, being a deciduous
tree, where the flower's genders grow distinct,
genteel parade cascades in white trimmed linked.

Premium MemberTo Pink Or Not To Pink

When I went to bed last night, my hair was fairer,
Yet, when I looked at the mirror today, a stranger was there,
More grey than fair, I’m eccentric, I’m a poet for
Goodness’ sake, I say what I mean, and I mean I what I say,
So back to the hairdresser I am going today.
Some like it black, or red, even blue or green, my color is pink.
Chrisy, my dear, what have you done to my hair,
I wanted a whitish blonde, you are renowned for your flair.
Light pink will blend in with mine and complement the blonde,
Please say you will fix my color and do my hair as I want.
I needed to tell hubby about what I had decided to do,
I think it will look great, he said, so out to dinner we went,
Happy I had my answer, to the question of ‘should I’.
What a wonderful night, it was as if we were out on a first date,
My husband and I, who is my best friend, lover and mate.
We dined under a full moon and millions of stars,
My pink hair shimmering, maybe they think hubby had
Married the first alien woman from Venus or Mars,
I whispered this in my husband’s ear. There’s my poet he replied.

Snowy Night

Milky moon on earth is peeping
By the mountain whitish pane
Gusts of wind with icy kisses
Rattle people in the train
Pines birches laden laden
Shivering in the village lane

In the snowy nights of winter
Thousand yarns of days of yore
To the lady wind they whisper

Swan

??
O thou whitish heaven's deity
Rowing on the waterways
Hellen of the birds in heaven
Heaven of the world of fays

In the foggy eves of winter
In the moonlit lake you row?
Larks and cuckoos, moon and weathers
Gaze at Thee in awe and go
Pearl of Love, thou Silent thinker
Midst of oceans midst of river
Gazing at the Reed as hermit?
Then on thine own thoughts thou shiver

Often see I rowing, boating!
In the eves of scented summer
Holy mornings, foggy winter
Thou in silent worship hour
On the sands of ocean shimmer

O thou angel, O thou mystic!
Thinkst thou of earth or heaven?
Thinkst thou of Love that Vanished?
Thinkst thou in seventh heaven?

Thinkst thou that life is sorrow?
Sorrow with the beats that mingles?
Thinkst thou of mirthful hour?
Not on face of earth that lingers!

Write on waves of ocean angel
With the quills in heart of water
Ways of earth are ways of sorrow
Ways of God are ways to laughter

Cloud

Thou airy ship, thou whitish mist!
Thou float on ocean and the dale
Thou art a painting by my Lord!
A painting which is not for sale

Thou sooth the hearts of all on earth
Thou heaths and meadows irrigate
Thy castle is in airy field
From earth and heaven isolate

O sailing boat, o shroud of earth
Thou child of sky and forlorn sea
Thou fly with gales soon after birth
O thou that in a wink can flee

Niagara Falls

I often think to write on thee
In holy eves oh waterfalls!
Thou captivate all heart that beat
Thy magic everyone enthralled
All pouring clouds by thee that pass
Thy very sight them all appalled

Who thee from heavens on Earth called?
Who made thy beauteous shiny braids?
More whitish than the snowy flakes
Are these the hair of ancient maids?

Who brought up thee in olden days?
Some watery brook or watery lake!
Deep oceans look at thee in awe
All rivers bring thou in thy wake

All fairies fly at thy great heights
And angels sing for thee there songs
Thy music beauteous than the winds
For thee the heart of cuckoo longs

Thousands of years I thought in awe!
Then at the end this I surmised

Some mighty angel brought thee there
From far off , far off paradise

She Still Never Falls

On the west coast of Africa
Stands there, the realm of liberty, Sierra Leone
She hosts men of but no clone
Many of her descendants are erudite
These men of controversies
Who seem to read only their self-verses
With their longing for power
Causing peaceful chaos in this blessed land.

The countrypeople are lopsided:
Some breed violence
Because they have always swept off peace;
Some chase equanimity away
Because they have dug and buried love
Minds of countermove
All these encumber development
And yet we profess nation building
Which is not so.

Albeit the strifes and brawls
If we be transformed in positive measure
We can still swim in the pool of country pleasure
Endowed in the fountain of peace
We should watch not ourselves of brag
But overshadowed by the whitish color of our flag
Our anthem of uniqueness.

O how bright it is to unite, to come together!
If we do this
With the anchor of ‘Together we rise’
By the weapon of oneness
Like those builders of Babel’s tower
We shall surely progress in building our nation in an hour
And in a unified coexistence.

Premium MemberThe Rubenesque Mermaid

She is so corpulent! She is so oversized. She is so Rubenesque.
Eleanor felt strongly they meant her, and she loved it; it was for the best.
She had worked a long time to reach her present girth and statuesque.
In the land of the deep sea, being large was an asset, she could attest.

She swished her tail and showed off all of her sides, so firm and fair.
Of course, the water shook out her gorgeous locks of whitish hair.
She knew sailors would stare a her because she was all that and more.
Confidence, self-love and self-assurance firmly in place, in dear Eleanor.

Winter Naturalness

As if it is whitish blanket on the body of weather
The smoky fogs are running with the morning air
Through the muddy path of village we are walking
For the juice of date tree eagerly we are searching

Delightful scent of fresh evaporated cakes of winter
Stirring up our thirst to enjoy this with full of devour
The sweetest raw sunlight of the dawn thru chirping
The environment of the Eden Garden as if composing

Drops of the wintry dew are twinkling in the crops field
Farmers are busy in caring that as true natural shield
Frosts of grassy leaves are soaking the bare feet softly
Winter coolness awakes the naturalness in man naturally

Companions of the Night

A life partner advances and sashay
orients a midnight blue chamber room.
Recast as sparkles, prompts unsealed cachet
dawns blessing past twilight upon the groom.

Marital rapture, quietude splendor,
and tantalizing tides affect its mood.
Affections high, stimulate surrender,
low-keyed attractions, reliant subdued.

A bluish globe and whitish counterpart
skirt the heavens and their nearby harems.
Though *two unloved passersby, they depart
like unacknowledged heroic sirens.

Duality, from beginning to end,
luminescence shreds darkness constants friend.

*Venus and Mercury have no moons.
