I awoke with a start without knowing why.
I wandered through the day.
I wondered about it.

It dawned on me – I was on the other side.
I saw the softest light
I felt the seductive song.

The cushions were golden and children played.
Lovers held hands and sighed.
What a welcome, wondrous land.

Heaven can wait my Love.

We seek wakefulness,
What is Barbados to me?
Hot sun, hot rum,broad Rim hats and old khaki pants?
Robust men with warm undertone skin,
That blends with the cultivated land.
We seek constant reassurance from the one we love
That they will be there for us in good times
Or bad times, just to feel good about ourselves.

On a crisp winter gust of wind he blew in. 
Rousing me to wakefulness as he gently touched my skin

Just out of the blue
As if he knew
My existence had grown dim 
And I needed him

And now at last I could see
The face to the angel of my fantasies

The Spirit of Wakefulness

What creates the poverty of spirit?
Sometimes it is family, friends, and other
ones who plant the seed of doubt, perhaps
depression at best.  Sometimes it is indeed
ourselves that bars our own climb into the 
sublime concerning this journey that we are
all on.   
There can be the pain of how our mind operates
