Sonnet to the Wakanda King: Chadwick Boseman

A man had returned to the dust!
His friends had called to check on him
On this twenty-eight of August.
Not knowing he was a victim.

The night before, all three of them:
Greg Reid, Javon, and Michael B.
Knowing he was for them a gem,
Made sure, at home, he had to be.

Now, did they know he was dying
Or did they say "Bye" just in case!?!
The next day, they would be crying.

That day, the world had lost a man,
Black Panther who can't be replaced
was no other than Chad Boseman!

Still Be Missing You

I've got a lot for us to discuss,
Now that life is steadily on course.
We could have shared ideas and opinions
But Allah had exercised His majestic dominions;
Like shingles falling upon the roof,
Of'times that sounds like the horse's hoof,
My heart beats to talk to you Atanda,
For you're my sage- My own warrior of wakanda;
Listen sir, we could've talked about life's bitterness
And taken cues from you on how to fight its wickedness.
You should've sojourned longer darling father,
But I see you each time I see your grandkid- Papa;
You'll always remain priceless and irreplaceable,
Baami who puts food on everyone's table;
If you could look back, I know you would smile,
Your boy's doing good in a land away thousand miles.
Still be missing you and even though your sun had set,
You're still a gem I'll never forget.

Love you Dad!

Premium Member The Shield, Edited

Captain America was a super-hero,
but he needed a strong shield
for protection against enemy attacks,
and he used a triangular one for a long while.

Replacing the over-used old one,
President Roosevelt presented him
a circular shield made of alien metal vibranium,
given by the King of Wakanda.

The disc-shaped shield was indestructible,
for it had unique vibration absorption property,
saving the Captain from life-threatening attacks,
helping him to incapacitate the Red Skull.

The legendary shield created history,
after Captain’s death one replica was kept in museum,
another was buried with him,
until he was resurrected from suspended animation.

The shield can be construed as a symbol,
created by the invincible spirit of man
for protection by the screen of faith in God
against the evils of the world.

Crowns To Chains

Taken from Wakanda rich, forced on a ship, let
the fifth amend begin, black lives for cash, moon kissed
midnight flesh driven downward, their passage last class;
into designated despair with a sting of lash.

Oppressed then separated, exasperated tears fall from blue
black faces that cry upward, into blue black places, southern
abyss, oh how long, will this go on! Forever it seems,
pain increases imagination, fueling royal blue dreams.

The best were found bathing in shekinah glory, flowing up
south the Hapi river, snatched and given no name,
soon Kings became sharecroppers, Queens became mammies,
from crowns to chains.

Premium Member Life Goes By In a Flash

Life goes by in a flash is a
famous quote/ saying. The
longer I live on this earth
I’ve found that quote/ saying
to be true. This year 2020
has made a believer out of
me. I’ve seen so many people
pass away like never before.
( Family, Friends, Celebs,
Strangers).Due to COVID-19
and other things. All these
things remind that life is fragile.
However, it will always be what
you make of it. So live it to the
full.Make your mark( in whatever
capacity that is).Because life
really does go by in a flash.Try
to give your flowers to the living
while they can still smell and
appreciate them. And I will try to
do likewise. While I’m still able to
smell the sweet scent of the roses.

Wakanda

WAKANDA…
naw America! Armed with a cellphone or a knock off CD
License to carry…
Don’t shoot just showing you my ID
"He's got a gun…"
22 shots fired both hands above the head
No conviction News read just another Gangster dead
He's a child…
Somebody's son…left in the street to bleed
He could have survived…
But you chuckled when he scream I CANT BREATH
Daughter buckled in watching from the back seat
Mom behind the drivers wheels… shaking him "WAKE UP PLEASE!!!"
Local PD hunting a minority on some type of internal vendetta
Shots fired life loss on camera watching PD plant the weapon
Court filled with mothers of victims
"The police killed our children…"
How does one get acquitted, 3 week vacation, and that just the tip of the iceberg
But it's America until we demand a WAKANDA
So well always fall slave to the system…
Minority in the streets but majority In the prisons
I had a Dream once too but what you did to my ancestry
White people are mad about 9/11
But we cant be mad about our history
13th amendment gives us freedom
What amendment gives white people freedom
Awww ok!!!
