I come from the planet Vega
In the constellation Megadore
Every one of us eats plant food
There’s not a single carnivore.
To make our food taste better
And here the plot thickens
We use artificial flavouring
To make it taste like chicken.
Sometime for variety we even
Make it taste like fresh fish
Or even beef, ham or pork to
Add some variety to our dish.
I come from the planet Vega
Where our diet is complete
But some of us just can’t resist
The tempting taste of meat.
We only eat plants on Vega
Not like your awful carnivore
But we need to enhance flavour
Because plants food’s such a bore

I am standing
In a line scene
Cuz my body
Needs its caffeine
And in front of me some dink
Orders a confusing drink
Now he’s changing ‘round his order
With our patients growing shorter
And a sword from
Someone’s pocket
Now sticks through the
Guy’s eye socket
Du du du du
Du du du du
Du du du-du du-du du-du...

So many Cantankerous, old argumentative men
Live all their days in misery,
Rehashing and recouping from an old war injury.
As Buster the dog slept soundly.
An rusty fishing rod, stood in the corner,
Buster the dog flaps his ear and wiggles his tail
His friend sat in the same spot all day
He just wants to go outside to play
Arthritis in his knees
Aches and pain
And varicose veins
Acupuncture, homeopathy, and osteopathy,
His day are numbered to twenty antacids pills,
Who is the consultant of his will?
What would grandma think of old Henry Vega?
As he become the Messiah of misery

The Chevy Vega is something I won’t miss.
No other car in Detroit was built like this.
Off the dealer’s lot or out of the showroom,
the sound of the running engine was a harbinger of doom.
Upkeep and maintenance busted my financial bubble.
It always seemed to develop some kind of trouble.
This was the kind of car leaving many owners pissed.
It was usually crossed off on car buyers’ lists.

O distant " Vega "
I catch your pale brilliance
with a fixed, naked eye...
as midnight's deep silence stirs
thoughts of awe and mystery!

Some Paris Hilton wannabe laughed
At my cell phone
(which was missing the battery cover)
As if to say
"How pathetic!"
As if to suggest
"He'll never get laid!"
The day was too gloriously
Autumn
For me to care
About the trivialities of some
Electronic set of shackles
And the status of their condition
But(t)
I was tempted to throw out some quips
Toss some facetiousness around
Like feces
Just a little something to mentally gnaw on
While mockingly handing her the phone
"Oh, your girlfriend has something to admit to you."
While overanalysing her face
"Oh, nice 1986 pink skiing googles that you call sunglasses."
But
Alas
Why feed the absurdity with more
Of the same
The leaves were showing signs of new color
The air was crisp
The hummingbirds were in Mexico
The music in my head was excellent as
The breeze blew over my neurons
Adios
La muchacha con no alma
Buenos dias
Para la Tierra
