VE Day Eighty Years On
Exactly eighty years ago today
Came the valiant, victorious VE Day
We celebrate in commemoration
Of the day that brought each our salvation.
Amid the joy there is also sorrow
For those who never saw a tomorrow
They had bravely fought for each of our sakes
Staring dangerous missions in the face.
Let's join together

VE Day 2025
Beret shaped and brushed
Trousers pressed, bulled shoes,
Booted and suited for
Eighty years old news.
Victory in Europe
End of a long haul
Time to celebrate
And reflect on it all.
Not a full peace though,
For three months more
Fighting continued
In the Pacific War,
Finished by an event to
Separate future from past,
The devastation caused
By that first nuclear blast.
Eighty years later most
Of those Veterans

Mr Down You Ve Got a Vicious Daughter
Mr. Down, you’ve got a vicious daughter.
Girls this mean lay my emotions bare.
I am so glad she doesn’t like me now.
She is clever enough, but me she doesn’t mind.
She’s a snot and acts haughty, your daughter.
Please tell her I barely know her name.
Here’s the game, I think she’s a big cow.
She is clever enough, but

I Ve Got You
‘I’ve got you.’
If you feel like you can’t go on?
‘I’ve got you.’
If you feel like you’re drowning?
‘I’ve got you.’
If you panic and you shouldn’t drive?
‘I’ve got you.’
Listen for my voice
I promise I’ve got you;
I give you my most precious gift;
I give you my pen,
I give you my words;
Those times you wanna shut down?
Just relax

Ve Day
75 Years ago this day, the world held its breath
Germany finally gave way, lost its grip of death
Guns fell silent on the battle lines of grief
Soldiers on both sides cried out with relief
The war is done, going home to Mum
Going home to wives and sweethearts
Going home to children yet unseen
Going home to continue the dream
Going

I Did Not Say a Word To Late Now I Ve Should Have Said Goodbye
now that you’re away
now that you’re gone I’m alone
did not say a word
now you can’t be heard
on this plain, dead and gone, gone
you're physically…
you left me alone
you are no longer here gone
I should have said bye
these tears I cry, sigh..
on this plain I'm a witness
should have said goodbye
now you’re departed
now that you’re gone I’m alone
didn't

I Ve Been There Before---
I 'VE BEEN THERE BEFORE---
I’ve been there before;
Yet I’ve open the door;
And I walked on in;
With my feet on the floor;
Took my shoes off;
As I gazed at the cross
I’ve been there before;
Lost a loved one by death
Yet, there really not gone yet
Their body in the grave;
The spirit and memories rain
Down in my emotions
I’m yet still

And Lord God You Ve Got Beautiful Eyes---
AND LORD GOD YOU’VE GOT BEAUTIFUL EYES---
Shimmering galaxies;
Beautiful starlight breeze;
Oh, we awesome to me;
Lord, God you got, you have such beautiful eyes;
And Lord God you’ve got beautiful eyes;
Comets racing cross the skies
In the night and day light flies;
Oh, totally awesome brilliants so pretty;
Colors galore midst the horizon-shores;
It’s like your winking to me;
Shimmering galaxies;
Beautiful starlight breeze;
Oh,

Ve Day In Italy
I remember it as if were yesterday
VE Day...well, not exactly
but, close enough for me
The actual surrender of Italy
May 2, 1945....but the damn Americans
Always the Americans wanted May 8
So, it's May 8th, but I'll always remember the second
We were in Milan...I love Milan
Hitler was dead, Mussolini was dead
I was alive, and in Milan
Rumours were out that

Day After You Ve Gone
When I awoke this morning the sun
was shinning so bright, I couldn’t believe
it for it should have be dark and gloomy…
Birds’ singing on high, singing in the
spring, this is not right for it should
be quiet and bleak…
I went to sit in that big old chair
cradling my head trying to understand
why you are dead…
Didn’t get the

Well, Here-S Another Nice Mess You-Ve Gotten Me Into
Suffering with a toothache
Started on the weekend
Appointment on Monday
See the Dentist at ten
This was no wimpy ache
A “King Kong” of a hurt
I kept on popping pills
Still pain would not avert
By that Monday morning
Pain spreading through my chin
At the end of my rope
Somehow this pain must end
We were at the building
A little before nine
We arrived
