Vaunts Poems | Examples

All that hope

With no regret do i believe
I will hope that all will stand
In one voice we show our strength
In one moment we could heal the land

They'll have us believe
 in our desires and wants
They try to conceive
A birth of their own vaunts

As long as truth remains
As long as hope is in our sights
We'll never bow to conformity
And press forward with the people's might

Premium MemberThe Heart Always Knows

The heart always knows what it wants,
The head often gets in the way.
A fantasy teases and taunts…
The heart always knows what it wants…
That fantasy's virtues it vaunts.
People in love are wont to say
The heart always knows what it wants,
The head often gets in the way.

Refuge

alliterisen

Righteous refuge, our Father's planned pledge,
"Hope has endless safe sanctuary in Me."
Heaven's hope, eternal Eden.
Perdition's plot is the devil's delight;
Satan sets no strict standards.
Many mad, pompous pooh-bahs may find
vanity vaunts a venal vista.

Premium MemberHappy October

October trees, they sway in the wind
A tangerine tango that taunts the tinges

October leaves, they swirl in the breeze
A vermilion whirligig that vaunts the whispers

October hues, they swagger the mind
A rubicund rollicking that haunts the shadows

October scenes, they sweep the heart
A garnet gambol that daunts the artists

October skies, they swarm the soul
A titian twinkle that flaunts God’s blessings

In Naught Out Wins Love

Prime blooms tryst dawns dew
midst steel spires vaunts vaults blue
save roots points of view
wrought grounds too firm to gauge through
yields sound replete for that shrew

Daily Monopoly Game

Contest rules, only one, enter whatever you like.
No prompts or specs, some would call that lazy.
A dictatorship, just a bit like the third reich
disabling comments on both sides, first strike.

Winners chosen by whatever the sponsor wants.
Room for skims, scans, and glances – it’s crazy.
What of reading, deliberation and careful response?
Control via nonchalance, strike two he vaunts.

Roughly, thirty-five “reads” that is, on a good day;
participation is always good, fill-ups are fast.
"Judging's" even faster, if you notice, by the way
it’s a Monopoly craps game, many of us choose to play.

I cannot speak for others, but here's my view
nothing ventured; nothing lost; nothing gained.
A poem's well-being does not rest with one "Yahoo!"
or if you please, on the other hand, with one DQ.

Viva La Viva

V vaunts verbiage vociferously.
Visage viewed very vacuous
Vacillates varyingly,
Venting valentine versus violence

Vast, versatile, variant,
Vehement vituperations volunteered:
Voices voice virtuously
Voices voice vulgarly

V very veracious,
Versal vortices visualized,
Versal volages visualized,
V’s valedictory.

Ode To Nelson Mandela

How can such a mere mortal
Afford that contagious smile?
A smile of love and innocence
Smile of a man sans grudge
A smile that unites mankind
A haloed smile of great man
Whom the world deserves
A smile bringing hope to life
A smile of peace and tolerance
Treasured smile of an icon
Building bridges for humanity
A man who leads by love
Heroic smile of a unique man
Who forgives all aggressors
And vaunts the downtrodden
A smile frozen in bold history
Yet invaluable gift for the future
Rippling smile of inert humility
Of he God bestowed the world
To cherish and to emulate
To trace and trail smile of peace
Evocative of the immortal
Love of He who created man!

A song for Nelson Mandela who is in hospital.
