On the back of a spirit
We'll rise or fall
Or say damn man
The hell with it all.
I get the gist
And twirl and twist
To soak in the stupid:
A flick of the wrist.
Gov'nor blankets
pomp and photo-op
Or immeasurable vapidity
like defunding cops.
I plaster my fat face
In front of y'all,
and say
Hey man welcome
To the start of the Fall.
Exercise to exorcise
the masquerade in your head
that profound-thought-parade
vapidity in sly disguise
Exercise will clear the cobwebs
from that brain of yours
Your cerebral spiders
poetic weaving yearn to do
Exercise to break a sweat
to alter your stale mindset
From darkness, gloom and doom
Fresh new flowers start to bloom
Exercise may not be a panacea
but it helps unleash vibrant new ideas
putridity rhymes with acridity
for the same reason that
tumidity rhymes with turgidity
and tepidity is to vapidity
as solidity is to rigidity
'course, all this has no validity
~ 'til they check my lucidity
Woe betide lower men who fickle facades embrace
And wit’s hard-won gold for shifting dross exchange;
Dubbing avarice-sired glosses exquisite gems pure,
With obscuring eyes decimating solid worth's range.
With their own ears they cannot first-hand hear,
And gauge if wild grapevines solid realities say;
There's always standard hearsay in each sphere,
That defines world’s weightier subjects of the day.
It's the stark lack of depth in these artless geeks
That hatches and pupates corporate hydras’ fads:
Gimmicks-iced shenanigans to sate whims of cads;
Lie-tipped rackets hymned by classist parrot beaks.
They're the distant acquaintance who moans louder
Than the actual first-bereaved's grief-laden shoulder.
You behold the fairy eye riled by wetting garlic wafts,
That gives its tear to one unhurt by the vexing shafts.
Methinks all existence and its rigged veneers would have ceased,
If the few manipulating hucksters on its skewed stage so pleased!
Everyday repeat,
Going to office, come home
Salaried life bores.
Meager attempts leave lofty goals out of reach;
while thin thoughts leech away my creativity,
I pry perfunctory pieces from flighty sources,
searching for literary gold.
Holding my hands in place, I wait to erase a mess,
in case someone decides to test my poetic valor.
Pickled percolating bile
Prances up my prickled throat
Whiskey guides my exile
While arrogance digs a moat
Brain reeking like a dog pile
Mighty flush to spin that float
Jackhammers ravage my brain
As my eyes toil to flutter
Elements of vast disdain
Yelp out within this clutter
Bacchus yanks me on his chain
While I glide in my gutter
Bruises pop out everywhere
Witnessed in that cracked mirror
Vomit caked-up in my hair
Revolt doesn't flash clearer
Locked within my distressed stare
Oblivion creeps nearer
What is this taste on my tongue?
Flavor sticks like a bar floor
Profusely coated in dung
Or perhaps scattered with gore
From my decimated lung
Snubbing to fight anymore
Heaves wobble within my chest
As my legs buckle under
Intestinal aches protest
My ever-loving blunder
Jameson's uncouth houseguest
Possesses me to plunder
I lack triggers of restraint
Base urges strive to throttle
My dim sanity's complaint
Longing shrivels to twattle
Before my spirit grows faint
I reach out for that bottle...
An amusing attempt at alphabet
babble: Beginning by
caramel croonings coming
delightfully down drains
ejecting embryonic
flatulent foolishness.
Grandiose gobbledygook
hatched hastily
into idioms indicating
just junk.
Keening karmic
language languidly liberated
matching mainly myopic magpies
nattering narcissistically.
Opine on, oh onerous one !!
Perhaps provoking philosophic
quoted quirky questions
resembling recent ramblings
spewed sporadically
to taunt Tiny Tim.
Unbelievable !!
Veritable vapidity
working well-worn Webster
xeno-
yappings
zealously.
