Earth bloodies the moon
its face drowned in severed veins—
harangued in the sky
for all to see Sun's disdain
in being eclipsed usurped
The heavens lament,
scattering rust into dusk,
for the blood red burns
when what's seen is black and white—
space smeared with wrath set ablaze.
A blood moon warns us
every orbit has peril,
in being dethroned
by an unyielding eclipse,
tainting our shadow of self

Alone Lyric By Eileen Manassian
Alone, alone..
.always alone
The pain I feel
cannot be known
This heart of flesh has turned to stone
Alone, alone...
I am alone
Chorus
Alone, alone...always alone
My dreams on wistful wings have flown
Depression has usurped my throne
Alone, alone...I am alone
Instrumental
Alone, alone..
.always alone
The wind gives voice
to primal groan
This world
no empathy has shown
I'll live, I'll die,
and rest...alone
Chorus
Alone, alone...always alone
My dreams on wistful wings have flown
Depression has usurped my throne
Alone, alone...I am alone
(Alone)
(Alone)
(I am alone)

To Die
I numb my brain to ease the pain
The world is mad...a new insane
Compassion's seen with such disdain
The truth now seems so very plain
To die would be considered gain

Hitchhiking by blurred station generic
Gypsy Flora slips anonymous, gravel
Grinds her heart of garbage, barbaric
Buried skeleton stirred, further travel
Ticket to Keep It Secret
Scarred in fish guts grubby, harbour
Heaves its putrid out to sea, amnesia
Avails an arbour over bleak macabre
Mutineer hurled ragdoll dumb, seizure
Saline dreams Dali delirium
Draped clock face, Flora's flailing coma
Collides with shore, format felicitous
Ferocious ocean spews sweet soma
Segued fortunate Flora duplicitous
Digs over fingers scratching
Sea sparks zesty spirit, crystal clairvoyant
Clavicle thrummed during tumble turquoise
Touched pitching ceiling, delight buoyant
Blackened flotsam, frivolous foam destroys
Destined to nest content
29th March

Thy grace I see of which I spurned
An awful merit I had earned
And my poor soul to thee unturned
And left behind frail bridges burned
Thy pardoning love to me have learned
My desolated heart sojourned
For I thy death have not discerned
My blinded eyes by tears unchurned
T'is then of sin that I had mourned
And found my heart of self dethroned
That which I had usurped, returned
And paid the price, by friends suborned
In want of such, my state I mourned
With darkened visage, they had scorned
Since I of late my faith reformed
Yet all my life this truth I yearned
To this divine ambition, I had sworn
May I thy sovereign grace adorn

I don't believe that
one can measure love --
subjective as it is selective
don't believe one can time
love -- schedule and depot
all its own
can't give it a firm reference number
one's so-called all-knowing, reliable
Smart Phone
(only a naive fool would think that love
is intelligent)
ether with you...or alone --
however, love is always compassionate
and sharing~ while forever remaining
a mystery as to its true method of divine
pairing
(all will be said of love
or not said~ not debatable,
its painful, confounding silence)
often usurped by evil -- falsely
accused, love the protagonist
of, not only all healing, but
man's abundance of violence --

The pyramid at Giza
is ancient they say,
but is it oldest
on the worldwide grid?
Some others say nay,
consider Java's Gunung Padang
built 27,000 years ago
a new study shows.
Archeologists raise their eyebrows,
they scoff and snort,
we must surely investigate
those most moronic upstarts.
They question timelines ordained
by us long ago;
we can't be usurped
by those deluded pretenders!

Up the delicate dale
of latticed life,
at esoteric edge
of sinking sky,
hermit horizon
shimmers sensuous,
glows paled passion.
On convolute contours
of scrambled dream,
whirlpool desire
swivels in inert stream,
arcane mindscape
usurped unsculpted
in twilight obscurity.
In platitude plateau,
the final flow
originates inspired,
ordained for
integral fusion
with supreme sea,
the end embrace
of sublime silence.
Suffused whelmed
with sunrise hues,
longing precipitates,
perpetuity illusion
embeds eternity efflux,
carries virtually
the vibrant soul
to the buoyant bay
of bliss.

Pouring..out a melody as the street scene; is cascading such harmony.!
Evangalists and market stalls; woodwind plus.' A rhapsody calls)
Two shining eyes, much fluid form; the hum of life some
Visions form, a threadbare coat midst passers by, just
As a norm.' All under skies, of mottled hue.. Usurped the
Summer, its time and dews' its past i view, in retrospect just
A time or two.!

We Can Be A Light
Sal was sixteen when he committed suicide.
A loving son and brother.
You could count on Sal when you needed to talk and know it was confidential.
Sal was always there with a smile and a vote of confidence in any endeavor you might pursue.
Sal's sense of humor and love for life was contagious and treasured by his family.
Then something happened...
He drowned wearing a cloak of self-loathing.
Sal's dignity and self-worth suffered the slurs of homophobic zealots.
"Guilty of sin. A sin against God and nature.”, they hollered.
Societal prejudice and loathing usurped the love of Sal's family.
Too many bodies are washed ashore from the violent seas of hate.
It doesn't have to be.
The enlightened hearts and minds of each generation must hold sacred the need to establish and maintain Lighthouses of Love and Respect.
So that...
When a lonely, frightened Child of God sees the beam of light he or she will know, that they are not alone and that Compassion and Empathy will be waiting for them on the shore.

Moon rises surprised,
eschews its pocked face,
caught in early glare
of sun in bleaches
awaiting its call.
A starlet usurped!

On way to work you find a dog asleep,
And see the same scene on a return trip.
If that makes you wonder
Who lives life much sounder,
You live a dog’s life, no need to think deep.
If your dog has your bed taken over
And you’ve no option but to sleep on floor,
I suggest what to do,
If you have not a clue.
Turn three times before you sleep down, and snore!

Poet’s note: The first limerick indicates that many a man live a dog’s life. The second, if your dog has usurped your bed, and now that you live a dog’s life, do as dogs do: Turn three times before you sleep on the floor. Additionally, snore and see if your dog is disturbed and vacates your bed. Good luck.

The world celebrates a holiday that's "sentimentally symbolic."
With bombastic, "fantastic fireworks," we greet New Year's Eve.
Revelers stoked, thoroughly usurped as if by a magical spell.
Abounds the sounds of popping corks of "chilled champagne!"
Toasting auld ang syne and future, good health as we hobnob,
all wearing grins as life begins with hope for a grand new year.
It's a "jubilantly joyous" occasion, an "enthralling extravaganza"
with a tender kiss from a loved one at the stroke of midnight.
The last seconds being counted down "to the tempo of timpani"
The ceremony peeks and everyone speaks in loud crescendo.
Resolutions made but not often kept are part of the holiday tradition.

Joe found himself in a bit of a rut
So, he bought himself the friendliest mutt
Bow-wow, lick-lick, slurp-slurp
Joe's space that mutt usurped
Not room enough for them both in Joe's hut

Herman heard me,
The howl of a nation.
Scourged! I was usurped,
And I was atomized!
Toivo came, a solemn tide
He contrived the paradiddle
That led to my autonomy.
Toivo, the inexorable current
That ringed a contrasting atoll.
Archracist criminalized him
Yet Herman endured unmitigated,
His heart never inuring to my cry.
His oratorical showers watered
The long rocky road to M21.
A sower of the seeds of hope
Andimba dispersed his ardour
Deep in the hearts of men
Ensuring the brave do not contort.
And when I was amorphous,
His sagacious parlance
Was perceived across oceans.
Toivo extolled my unsung features
And with his bellicose
He lit my torch of sovereignty.
Today, I am the Land of the Brave,
Because Herman heard me.
