Onward And Upward

Until it's time to pop my clogs,
shuffle off this mortal coil,
I'll ensure my life is fun-filled
not just daily drudgery and toil.
As all work and no play
would make me one dull boy,
listless, senseless, bored witless,
not my Mother's pride and joy.
And so, in closing, I'm compelled to say,
"Exercise free will,
don't wait, hesitate or trust to fate,
before you're

Premium MemberCumulus Rejoice

Most cherished of thoughts, ideas abloom,
spreading, expanding
Overcoming harsh crushing repression,
breaking loose into a fluffy
sacred cloud bound emancipation
Liberation! My spirit takes flight, light,
mellow, blithe and callow
No longer crushed prostrate
'neath the crushing tyranny of the basis gossip
I inhale an atmosphere crisp and fresh,
bounding upward, deep into the wide blue

Premium MemberUPWARD AND ONWARD: A BIRTHDAY MLOKU

Gradually, the stars and the full decided
to move onward,
And the golden dawn appeared as the bright
sun rose into daylight;
Blessed to be perpendicular, to labors of love,
I moved onward:-

Push Yourself Upward

Strive to climb up
Though the rock is steepy
Use rope and safety.

Going up is hard
When you have all your baggage
In body and soul.

Fear below, look up
For your help comes from above
Push yourself upward.

Up there is glory
When your goodness is constant
Ground your humbleness.

Falling Upward

I was wise enough not to fool around
When push came to shove I stood my ground
I ran long and hard but couldn’t get anywhere
I spread laughs, but my hurts couldn’t share,
Now I wish I had painted the town red
Indulged my desires, all my passions fed.

Premium MemberOnward and Upward

Over the rocky terrain
Over the mountains high
Over the choppy seas
Onward we struggle by

Still we brave the day
Still we stand and fight
Still we forge ahead
Onward through the night

With passion we live our lives
With honor we ever grow
With hope we dream our dreams
Onward and upward we go

Upward Path

In the dark wastelands
of my traumas, I see ahead
a path that leads to my
healing—

and in the far distance
of this upward path, I see
mountains of growth
awaiting my daring climb.

Premium MemberUpward, Child

Scarce contained within its bounds
Surging, straining to break free
Pulsating and palpable
Enticed by its pure energy
Mesmerized and drawn, a moth to flame

O, that I might be a god!
Grab these reins and take control
Are they not mine, and this, my day
For others to admire, extol?
Seduced complete by thoughts of storied fame

Child, remove thy hand, step back
Quick to

Premium MemberMy Spirit Presses Upward

My spirit presses upward to you, Lord,
knowing that, all the while, you reside
in the deepest inner recesses of my present
where I can never be separated
--from everlasting to everlasting--
My heart shall sing of your peace within,
Now, I shall walk with you each day,
--and, eventually--
My soul shall reign with you in heaven,
My spirit shall roam the celestial

Violent Deadly Crime Spree Shoots Upward One

Gun owners indiscriminately brandish
loaded firearms toward innocent victims,
and concomitantly excite
purported in accordance
with first amendment, relish
yet proliferation allowing
free ranging banshee dervish
sans weapons of mass destruction
(mainly innocent lives)
inures citizens to appear off fish
U.S., and self-important
becoming comfortably numb
at regular headlines detailing
some lone a bit mish
hug ha, an automatic killer
methodically unloading with a swish
multitudinous cartridges attempt
to evening the score,

Violent Deadly Crime Spree Shoots Upward Two

This epidemic re:
murderous love affair perfervid
with gruesome morbid
fixation allowing, enabling
and providing terrifying
trappings, whence went Pandora out the lid
anger loosed maniacally gun down
(in S-L-O-W mo) recorded by hid
madding crowd, each person
locked in crosshair grid
source (perhaps pathetic plan
premeditated) employing did
da ding from flying bullets,
a coterie upping the ante vis a vis bid
ding fare thee from odious
loading incendiary

Return To the Stars

If we remember to look at horizon and sky
The Universe draws us higher, whispers a reply
We all are stardust yet somehow so earthy
Humans eschew solid troughs, for color & crest (the showy)
