Leaves Whisked Upward

Breeze-swept lawns
  leaves whisked upward
whirling once again only
to flutter lazily to the earth

Early November
  tree limbs suddenly bare
Wherefore the rush
  gentle the wind yet

Dear Gershon, you capture this transition through Autumn beautifully with your gifted pen. I love when the leaves swirl in the air light as feathers, as if on a sigh, only to then come down to scuttle along the ground or rest gently again. Inspiring poetry, dear poet. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

Thanks, Jan... I'm hoping against hope that winter will take its time getting to Chicago... Cheers, Gershon
