The gargoyles sit on the fence
blinking like sheep, all in a row
where’s the romance in that?
humor me, please, before it’s too late.
I’d like to see you
sharpen your teeth
and hiss some outstanding
poetry,

grow some fangs,
flap your wings at the crows

I know it’s all
laughable limerence
the slap and tickle limerick
between you and me,
I’ll gift you this, though, generously,
you make me smile
and laugh uproariously,
at this, from my lips to yours

the words,

"I do" -

agree

And the Dog Laughed Too

He stood on the street corner
Having a much needed smoke
Somehow we got chatting
And he told me a joke
And i started laughing
The way that you do
He looked at me smiling
And started laughing too
And his dog laughed too.

It became a habit
Ever after that
Every morning I’d stop
For a little chat
And listen to any joke
That he would tell
His supply seemed endless
And he told them so well
And his dog laughed too.

One day I saw the dog
Out with another guy
So I said hello to him
And I asked him why.
He said he was standing in
His dad had had a stroke
So I sent my best wishes
And I really missed his joke
And his dog just looked sad.

I asked about him every day
Was told he was improving
Was chafing at the bit to
Get his recovery moving.
I was so pleased to hear
Of progress like that
For I really missed
His joke and our chat
And his dog looked optimistic.

Then one day I saw him back
Standing there having a smoke
I bid him a good to see you
I’ve missed your daily joke.
We both laughed uproariously
As he told me his latest one
And the dog wagged his tail
All signs of sadness gone
And his dog laughed too.

“Who, my husband, “she smiled, “he has no
alcohol problem.”
This is walking on the Razor’s Edge, but try
and tell a codependent that one!
They will laugh uproariously thinking this is
all a game of fun.

Thinking they are physicians or perchance,
beloved psychiatrists?
They feed, house, bail from jail, their helpless
partners.
The belief that they can save them is not just
a tiny lie, it’s a whopper!

The codependent is akin to a person going through
life with no vision.
They just cannot admit to being helpless nor unhappy
or lost.
Nor do they understand, the ultimate end, will very
likely, be death~ the final cost.

I have seen the codependent, standing right
next to a their beloved’s casket.
No, not a single, sorrow-filled,moist tear at all.
Well, sadly, what to expect, from a very lost,
Miss or Mr. Know it all?

Barely escaped
as a bear
chased me down the hall
my eyes wide open
   for the rest
of the night

Bearing my soul
to the roar
of laughter…
seemed
uproariously serious
in the depths
of R.E.M.

To Keep Me From Crying

wildly and uproariously
the
mouse pulls
his head
from
the jaws of a
ferocious lion
then
the mouse
poured himself
a glass of brandy
while
i
laughed so hard
to keep me from crying

Premium MemberWe Weather It Out This Finter

bright! bright! bright!
and cold

if i touch my nose to the picturesque windowpane
i’ll surely see the light

this Finter uproariously has censored
my two day habit of nature walks

wrapped in layers, scarves and woolen socks
a shock to reigning leaves of gold

the South and North locked in uncivil war
with similar flocks of weather-cocks

our country vast with flames, rain, blizzards
and but a little sun

who will win today
headlocked in this political haze
snowmen with bolder-arms
could melt upon the congress floor
wet with united tears
divided under scrutiny

we weather it out in cushy chairs
our tushies need repair

DISTURBING THE PEN

what creeps
in?

insanity of sorts,

leaking
in,

instead of out.

it dribbles
out,

like drool or frothing foam.

it comes
from

the inner sanctum,

barely a
stream,

scissors snip away at contentions,

invention of
hate.

bitterness and cacophony invades.

you toss and turn,
laughing.

like a crazy fool, do not turn over

and look at
the underside.

drip, drop, drip,
on the roof of
your head.

clear your mind and begin again,

putting pen to
paper,

even bend and fly that plane.

ramblings are...
just that.

Conjure up a complete thought.

i see you hiding in the
corner,

cobwebs like sticky curtains.

madness laughs
uproariously.

how insane you look when humor beds your pen.

friction of match
complains,

as a scintilla of flame recognizes your waning brain.

I Am Made of Black

I am made of black,
Shinning from the uttermost part of the earth
To the craving deep of the oceans of the earth.
I glitters and gleams like the stars,
A gltterati in the endless world I am,
Packaged uproariously.
My glamour is from Africa to Europe,
I am the light that connects Asia and America,
Baked with perfection from third heaven.
The meeting of my black blood by the ocean
Waves caress the power of who I am, a black man.
I am the treasure the tourist seek beneath seas
Because I am made of the un-faded colour, black.
I stand as black to defend the world of sin,
Then raise the blacks from the dungeon because
I am black, made of black blood.
I am proud of being who I am; a black man.

Heer Sayal.

I was the moonlit night of lapid love
Some confused lores of a tortured mind
A tongue to tell, to speak of truth jogia
Then to live in shades of encumbered lies.

No soul enamoured in this wide world
That can bring about my heart’s satiation
Certainty within my soul will never again
Gaze upon starred face of Ranjha yaar
And never again the buds of my heart
Blossom anew in cloudy tales of romance.

Strike uproariously for hindered desire
Some deeds in burning to quench the fire.

I will sell my skull for vessel to be made
My dark tresses for silken rope to be woven
My gory skin for the shoes to be soled
And gauged eyes to blinds for instructions.

Oh my lord if my heart was not so worn
Glimpse of Ranjha yaar was enough
To restore my soul.

Forgive me dear God for sins of love
For seeds of grief, for songs for the dove
I will scatter my ashes windward to spark
On some altered dedicated to my true Lord.
