Deadly Consequences

“Who, my husband, “she smiled, “he has no
alcohol problem.”
This is walking on the Razor’s Edge, but try 
and tell a codependent that one!
They will laugh uproariously thinking this is
all a game of fun.

Thinking they are physicians or perchance,
beloved psychiatrists?
They feed, house, bail from jail, their helpless
partners.
The belief that they can save them is not just 
a tiny lie, it’s a whopper!

The codependent is akin to a person going through 
life with no vision.
They just cannot admit to being helpless nor unhappy 
or lost.
Nor do they understand, the ultimate end, will very 
likely, be death~ the final cost.

I have seen the codependent, standing right
next to a their beloved’s casket.
No, not a single, sorrow-filled,moist tear at all.
Well, sadly, what to expect, from a very lost,
Miss or Mr. Know it all?

But most don’t want to even read a poem about the destruction of their fellow man. That’s how deep Denial runs in this country about use of opiates, painkillers, grass, and all forms of booze! That attitude is one of the reasons why we are in this predicament. Addiction is not a germ, not a virus...it is poor choices. For whatever the reason. If it is tolerated, on any level -- it will proliferate. They won't even Jail killers and tax cheats...why? Because they want more of them. How do you think they control so many politicians and religious leaders?~ by having dirt on them. Not that they need dirt to prosecute. Just more convenient. Again, I have no proof of any of this, just my twisted mind speculating. I have seen fist-hand in my life enough to tend to rely more heavily on my own possible wrong conclusions rather than those obviously wrong conclusions of others. Experts especially! Addictions are a disease of mind and body…and cannot be controlled by laws. Families and friends cover the problem as I said. It is a way of weakening a population and thus being able to control. Knowledge of this goes right to the highest levels in my opinion. Young people would never go down the path of users with just some minor tweaking of the laws. For one, when a youngster is caught intoxicated or high, get them right into rehab, ordered by the court, but for some strange reason being stoned is not the same as possession, a crime. As a deterrent, no chance of getting an early driver's license. Dealers are not the major pushes...it is friends and neighbors, just trying to augment the cost of their own use. Put some large teeth, penalties in the law. We have bad behavior because it is tolerated, and for no other reason. My uneducated, speculative opinion for what it is worth. There is plenty of help available, Prince. Both users and their mates live in denial. The user will die or end up in a nut house. We all know users! AA is around and NA narcotics Anonymous. And Alanon for the mate or spouse who is not using. Pray for them this is more than widespread. It is a global issue. Pangie xx
