Eunice
for he was fascinated with her creativity, her wildness and her lack of rules
limits had never applied to her, she was a free-spirit,
someone unlike anyone he had ever met

He feared if he did not capture her heart
he would continue on in his unsatisfying, misunderstood, angry life path.

Premium MemberMy Greatest Delight

When my heart feels like breaking,
And, on this road I’m taking,
There comes a fear, dreaded forsaking,
Causing such doubt – my soul is shaking!

When my soul feels like it is dying,
And, on this journey, I’m crying,
Longing for solace, so gratifying,
But, I feel all alone, beyond unsatisfying.

When my spirit feels like I’m lost,
Though, on this path, I’ll not count the cost,
Because I know Jesus – love I’ll never exhaust…
I’m so thankful He sent His spirit at Pentecost!

When all hope it gone and I feel so alone,
I look to the heavens, where He sits on His throne,
Remember the loving Savior that I call my own,
Because without Him, I can only grumble and groan.

Listen to His spirit sing through the night,
In melodies of grace, beauty so bright,
When He came to us, our story to write,
I realized my Jesus is my life’s greatest delight!

Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained
(Cream Rises To The Top)
Miracle Man
May 23, 2023

In life, no natural law or proclamation, ever decrees,
that a day started badly must continue that path.
Through our daily encounters we can still breeze,
if negative thoughts are interred in the aftermath.

Keeping pace with others only makes one mediocre,
and the success of the draw will be unsatisfying.
Cream rises to the top is not the attitude of a choker,
and success will find those not averse to trying.

Premium MemberCandlewicking Makes No Sense

When I was eleven I learned the craft of candleicking.
It came in a kit, and it was an interesting craft.
If you have ever done embroidery, it was easy.
But unsatisfying to me, for it has low to no color.
It is white or beige thread on white or beige fabric.
Most of the kits end up becoming pillows.
This made no sense as they are uncomfortable when finished.
It is like lying on a pillow that has buttons sticking out of it.
I have never figured out the reason for candlewicking.

Not You

The unsatisfying excuse of it’s not you, it’s me
Unleashed fears on a never-ending spree
Lies that did spring from nothing
Turned every little thing into something
And all those promises that were made
Are laid beneath regrets’ shade
Every night the poor little thing went to sleep
The only thing on her mind is not to weep
Thinking of all the things she could have said
Of all the possibilities and things she never had
With a heavy heart and an even heavier mind
She sleeps, praying for some peace for her to find.

No Longer a Satisfying Symphony

No Longer a Satisfying Symphony

When the piper plays the pipe,
Our hearts flutter,
At the sweet soft melody.

The piper all set up and tuned,
With his little snare drum
Begins to work his magic,

The piper plays,
Electrifying symphony of flavours,
His skills so magical.

The pleasant harmony produced
warms us up,
It reaches the depth of our souls.

The spontaneous rhythm
Spurs us to dance to the beat,
Possessing us profoundly.

But,it is not the piper
who dictates the tune,
It is he who pays the piper.

And most times,
He who pays the piper
dictates the tune of shame.

And we're all forced to listen
to the unsatisfying symphony of
a skilled and magical piper.

This time, when the piper plays the pipe,
Our hearts no longer flutter
but palpitate in disgust.

He who pays the piper
Dictates the tune,
That no longer satisfies.

Noise Beyond the Door

There is a baby crying
Just wanting to be fed
The distress is growing and intensifying

 There is a daughter crying
Just wanting to feel loved
Her desire for acknowledgment is underlying

 There is a mother crying
Just wanting to be happy
The life she has is so unsatisfying

 There is a lover crying
Just wanting to be chosen
The thought of starting over is horrifying

 There is a sister crying
Just wanting to feel whole
The size of her emptiness keeps multiplying

 There is a family crying
Just wanting to be led
The thought of doing this alone is oh so terrifying

The Unsatisfying Water of a Cactus

Got up early and feeling surly
and I don't wonder why
Chest hair is curly and feeling burly
I'm not going to lie
There's only so much that I can touch
and turn into gold
I've got one crutch, things are as such
because I'm getting old
I've lost track and I've lost my knack
guess I'm out of practice
One man wolf pack, I'm thirsty I lack
even the water from a cactus
Bridges burning, world keeps turning
as dusk grows near
As I am learning and discerning
I have more anger than fear
Mental acrobatics and gymnastics
take me to new heights
No longer static, I am emphatic
I have a goal in my sights
Once in a while go the extra mile
to see how far you can go
Venom and bile are no longer in style
but that you already know
The last of the last who could still think fast
is walking out the door
The past has passed and the die is cast
and all I want is more

Premium MemberPandemic Changes Our Thinking

We took seeing our friends and family for granted.
We could do that any day of the week if we wanted to.
Children sat in dark houses for days at a time, pushing buttons.
Listening to bells and whistles, losing their enthusiasm for outside or friends.
They could play with them any time – if they wanted to.
But the bells and whistles held them hostage.
The subliminal blips kept them prisoners.
Until they stopped playing, like little addicts, wanting their fix.
Then the pandemic came to visit. Suddenly we could not visit.
We could not see our friends or family.
OUCH! Now we really wanted to.
We began go hunger for human contact.
For hugs and kisses, for pats and taps.
Alas, time had run out.
This time was past.
So we returned to our unsatisfying addictions.

Plural Penetration

Throw bold differences that inspire our colorblind eyes and cast themselves out of their opaque truth and discover feeling reality
Everyone feels the crimson hatred that we all burn this world with
Just as the icy blues that we all shatter the earth with
Cleanse our mind’s “eye” with a sudden down pour that leaves the smell of freshly baptized sidewalks spewing perfume like ocean waves in the summertime
It’s warm
It’s soothing
I feel protected somehow
Extend an arm of care outward from the love that we desperately have as others shove us away because they feel unbearably the same
Deep down it makes you smile as it tears a hole in your heart
Trust that unsatisfying grin until your grip gives way to the weight of the world
Something meant well that will never be similarly understood even with perfect vision
It’s friendly
It’s sympathetic
I feel strength inside my one arm raised and a balled fist

Premium MemberUnsatisfied Scratching

The scratching wakes me up
Ridiculously unsatisfying
Yet notoriously put there by shingles
Or excruciatingly painful allergen.
A scream for help

Time is in my way
Sorry I sid not sneak my Excedrin pm into hospital
Morphine is not cutting it.
Each time more insistent
On a more potent drug

A Sad Song

I looked down upon the ground
I looked up into the sky
Both scenes were filled with darkness
They were both unsatisfying

In the sky there was no light
On the ground there was no green
For in the sky it was now night
And on the ground there was now sand where the grass had previously been

The sun had already set
The moon was out
The land was desolate
And the grass was never found

There was no more life
The happiness had gone
The land was filled with crime and rife
oh what a sad song

The Beginning and End of Love

Has a woman ever made your head lean to one side

Has she ever made you wonder why

Has a woman ever made you go WOW in your thoughts

And before you realize

you have been talking out loud

And the one you’re with doesn’t quite understand…

Has a woman ever made you love

love so hard it hurts but feels so right

And through God’s plan she became yours that night…

I had a woman like that, who brought tears to my eyes,

from thoughts of her and how she may die,

I laid beside

and wondered why

all the questions

and all the lies

The many flowers and food I brought

To pass the time and delay the thought

To appease her mind and ease her fears

How darkness comes and time will disappear

My love is powerless but warms her soul

and that’s all she needs I pay the toll

These precious moments I won’t forget

so unsatisfying yet pleasing I will take what I can get

There was more I had to say but I’ll let you rest for awhile

But I’ll remember your glow, your essence, your smile…

Cherish… My love…

True story…
