I thought…
Your smile was for me, and me alone.
That I am the reason for your laughter.
That with me, you feel it’s like home,
And that it’s me you sought after.
I thought…
Those words you uttered were for me,
And I could listen forever.
That when you gaze, it is I you see,
I’ll drown in your orbs, over and over.
I thought…
That you and I were meant to be one,
That our fate was from high above.
But you’ve proven me wrong, now everything’s gone,
And all I have is unrequitted love.
To you, the unrequitted
Yes, you
Syllables are playing on my mind
One and two and three
but none comes out
But do you know?
Even when the words cannot be said, the love goes
As subtle as moonlight
As soft as morning midst
And on my knees I pray
For those words that cannot be said
For a love that asks for no return
May God send you a love that matches yours
For nothing I want more, than your eternal happiness
I've written the words,
and finally collapsed at your feet.
I've broken my pen,
as well as my heart,
my own fault,
holding on to the edge of imagination,
just a little too long,
my grip finally slipped,
and I've landed
deep in the middle of the reality.
I am rendered speechless,
yet I cannot take the words back,
and don't want to.
but I've collapsed at your feet,
unrequitted love,
has finally taken me down.
When all the delicate words are gone,
and all the subtle innuendoes have been written,
and my polite stance is overcome by passion;
patience ended by passion,
all that's left for me to say,
is "I want you".
"I love you"
"I want to kiss you".
"I want to make love with you, now".
I just cannot continue
my lattice work of words.
Unrequitted love has finally taken me down,
end of story.
I finally give up
I think I've had enough
You have brought me to the brink of madness
As you recklessly played
With the unpredictable flame
Of my incredibly volatile passions
You're just lucky I've such strength
Keeping this inferno contained
It's much more powerful than you can imagine
The result would be utter destruction
Consuming all within it's reach
Purification it's only function
Carried on the wind independently of me
But I guess in the end you're still the magus
An alchemist in your own right
Blending unfulfilled desire with profound sadness
You managed to turn fire into ice
Leaning on your spine
crippled by a dark desire
unrequitted love.
