Premium MemberA Giddy Happy Spinning Two Year Old

I would bring you a dancing two-year-old
A giddy, happy, excited, joyful toddler
She would be wearing a fancy dress
Her spinning and twirling would make you smile

She would take your hands and clap them for you
You would be delighted with her, for she is delightful
She would show you how to fingerpaint and remind you to laugh
that hearty happy full out laugh you have not had since childhood

A giddy happy spinning two-year-old inside a chocolate egg.
What an Easter gift!

Frisky as Two-Year-Olds

HIM: Anything unputdownable?
HER: Yes, and you?
HIM: Lucky, we're here, we'll continue indoors ... and leave the book!
HER: Don't forget the kids, I'll carry Puddy-Tat upstairs ...
HIM: I'll persuade Pup-Tart outside.
HER: Meet you at the rendezvous!

Premium MemberTwo Year Old Toddler

Two year old toddler
invincible dare devil
keep your eyes on him

Two year old toddler
will jump off the highest roof
completely fearless

Two year old toddler
Epitome of no-fear
Watch him each minute!

Premium MemberThe First Answer Is Always No

No matter what we say
The first automatic answer is NO!
But then upon thinking the two-year-old sometimes changes
The emphatic NO into a yes.
My husband and I used to laugh about this
Until he pointed out that I do the same thing.
Now it is not so very funny.

Premium MemberThe Outlet Twins

The two black and white mini-twins seemed surprised beyond surprised.
Their mouths were open like codfish in the middle of a yell.
These babies were stacked on top of each other when they caught my eye.
Black-eyed babies, with elongated mouths showing a startle that fell.

“Don’t touch that!” My mommy screamed at me, as I began to reach
Now I was startled, just trying to comfort them, to take away their blue.
“They are dangerous!” she and my grandmother in unison shrieked.
They are twin-minis, I thought, having no fear at all, being two.

Premium MemberFourth Two Year Plan

In a trailer park everyone is on the two-year escape plan.
To put distance between themselves and stigma.

Our neighbor is no different.
She's a smoke stacked bleach blonde.
90 proof attitude to boot.
Her skinny kids cherishing her dead-end smile.
She's on her fourth two-year plan.

A couple of rusted rectangles down.
There's Mr. ambition.
He really wants out-works a couple of shifts.
His legs are younger than his face.
but I think he has a chance...

Then there's the old soul across the way.
Has the nicest garden around.
She still works like a pack mule.
Should have been long retired.
I don't think she'll ever make it out.

As for me ...you already know.
I only have but two more years to go.

Two Year Olds

There is nothing like two year olds
They are like robots, only repeating what they are told
we are often in awe of some of their sayings
some of their words stop us from turning pages
they jump, play and just run wild
we look at them with wonder and smile
they came from us, but we ask whose child?
