Truncate Poems | Examples

Premium MemberSense perception

immediate and intimate
is rapture felt when nodes gyrate
borne by currents of our senses
truth as felt, mind cannot truncate

why live out life in past tenses
when each moment breath commences
ushering with it boons of grace
reading through ego’s pretences

embrace release; release embrace
that origins we may retrace
strobes of light that heighten delight
gentling touch, slowing down life’s pace

vibrant by day, at peace by night
doing what conscience deems as right
making void-centric our soul’s view
our aura radiates God’s light

touch leaves to feel fresh morning dew
each rainbow we see, seems like new
as does caress divine sublime
as bliss ignition does renew

accent occurs in timeless time
in slow steps to heaven we climb
there’s no fear for God dwells within
His heartbeats echoing love’s chime

Premium Memberivory flakes

elephant tusks
harvested for ivory towers
truncate the wisdom of time

blizzards hail snow flakes
weather a storm or two
before they melt into memories

Babylon refutes Jericho
an eye for an eye
that money can’t buy

Rosetta’s stone
gives a clue to incomprehension
and sometimes the monolith
takes on new meaning
when frosty crystals meet
eternity in shining armour

Midas touches mammon and greed
blistering peeling forms scabs
on lost conscience and souls

the snow flake melts
because it knows about destiny
eventually ivory decomposes
once humanity has died

Meet me at the crossroads of my life.
Underneath the streetlamp, I will be waiting
expecting you to whisk me away,
shivering in the drizzle of coolness
truly trusting you'll truncate my trauma.

Meet me at the crossroads of my life,
need to sense your embrace as I wait
urban sounds drown out opinions of you,
as piercing sirens blare across the silent night,
A purr from a black dog terrifies me.

Meet me at the crossroads of my life,
minutes later, your svelte, seraphic allure shows up.
Seeing your stern sentence, I glance up
We stroll as one, holding hands,
in the abyss as nobody yet triumphed.

Is it the blaze that ignites the soul?
rather than the flame-holding heart?
Is it love that motivates a person?
or the spirit that ignites the fire?
the eye requires the light He created.

Premium MemberMy Fears

I fear for Nigeria my country
I fear for the giant of Africa
I fear for God’s Master piece
I fear for a country that is always
Trapped in the web of its convoluted misery
I fear for a country perpetually
Enmeshed in trial and error
Instead of pragmatic leadership selection
That would launch her into
The orbit of advanced Democracies
That providence has thrust upon her
The Nigerian masses have spoken
Loud and clear in their choice
But the forces of criminality
Which have held the country down perpetually
Have begun another macabre dance
To truncate the will of the people
God is a Nigerian and has set in motion
A divine rescue mission
Greater than the Red Sea experience!

Simplicity

*SIMPLICITY*

Walked on my nerves daily the heart made.
Which always get me puzzle on the step to make.
Always in silence neither of not knowing what to do,
But of the greater law which is in conflict with ours.

The former gives more hope than the latter
Of the eternal reign with the saviour of the world.
Hope this will be my gain less the trauma of my land
Truncate this my silence.

Simplicity or no simplicity this which has choked out the good in us.
Could this be the situation of the economy in our land?
This which the loots at the government embrace for the care of unborn.
No, I can't bare the crook alone,

For the pains which the bastards do cause us for their prodigals.
Has no limitations to be compared to
An hungry man is an angry man they say.
This the colonial Masters have used to put us in slavery Independence

The law of our Lord Jesus Christ which is supreme.
Notwithstanding this fact it's best to be simple and not foolish.

Look Around and See

Look around and see
How men hustle to taste the hustle of bee
Jumping from one hive without key
To another is a stress with no fee
Depression replaces momentary glee

Look around and see
To see, remove the blocking seals
After relishing lucrative deals
Bosses bus public meals
To nurse their wards till hunger heals

Look around and see
How men smoke out bees off their hive
Creating an anger that stings Innocent's life
Which affect the simple chain of life
Now we Innocent are on lifetime strife

Look around and see
If need be, wash your eyes with soap
How men cope is with the hope
That evils lose their breaks in this slope
Before banking our honey and elope

Look around and see
How men are rejected
Little Originality not accepted
But large quantity accumulated
Even if honey is sugared or laked

Look around and see
Just look around and see
There are more to say from what I see
I aim to truncate this saddened read
Look around and see
Evil isn't Divine, it's just of our own making!

Premium MemberAs Is Moments

Vivid sketches,
a parade
of resemblances,
canvas afloat
before my eyes:
expressionist
impressionist
abstractions
locked forever
in time:
the familiar,
the muddled or
befuddled
inventive
imaginings
before me file,
to stay awhile
and truncate my day:
I contemplate
and marvel
the many things
to me they say

Severed Starlight

Severed starlight, brief lanterns

Truncate tingles, sugar burns

pen puzzling in oily ink

Dark dots on papyrus slink

Metre measure on tongue tip

Riddling rhymes gaining their grip

Cursive verses in past tense

Trying a new form tonight. Hope you enjoy

Sounds of a Day Dispersed

Clawing at the doors

Windowless shops barrage

Their straight images on printed faces

Bedsheets of yesterday grope

Seamless skin wondering

About moods and ruminations

Clouds unravel before they start

As thin toast barely starts the morning

The urge to shift settles groundwise

While gypsy radio pulses truncate

Asking for your improvement

And glide away before you start

I'm settling in the thick skin of dirt roads

That I know wind back around to the same path
