Convene at Crossroads

Listen to poem:
Written: November 09, 2023 ____________________________________________ Meet me at the crossroads of my life. Underneath the streetlamp, I will be waiting expecting you to whisk me away, shivering in the drizzle of coolness truly trusting you'll truncate my trauma. Meet me at the crossroads of my life, need to sense your embrace as I wait urban sounds drown out opinions of you, as piercing sirens blare across the silent night, A purr from a black dog terrifies me. Meet me at the crossroads of my life, minutes later, your svelte, seraphic allure shows up. Seeing your stern sentence, I glance up We stroll as one, holding hands, in the abyss as nobody yet triumphed. Is it the blaze that ignites the soul? rather than the flame-holding heart? Is it love that motivates a person? or the spirit that ignites the fire? the eye requires the light He created.

dearest Sotto...this poem flows just beautifully. You tied the first three verses together with a compelling refrain. I love the sincerity and humility I sense in the tone of the refrain as the two do meet. The questions in the last verse almost seem rhetorical but are powerful nonetheless. The last line captured my attention. Those questions need the light he created in order to be answered? I appreciate the gentle emotion and flow of your poem, gifted Sotto. Have an enjoyable afternoon,Sara

This is so beautiful and touching dear sotto, i really love the way you’ve used the refrain “ meet me at the crossroads” and how you’ve made every stanza flow so evocatively with stunning alliterations emotions and soul stirring questions. I always find it very engaging when a poet questions, it is captivating! I really also love the lines “ as piercing sirens blare across the silent night, A purr from a black dog terrifies me.” Such descriptive imagery! Brilliant “ I felt this poem so much!FAVE
