Premium Member Topical Poem

Never have I seen trouble as deep as
The catastrophe in Tamaulipas.
I chanced on a 6-kilometer crack -
A lot of information to unpack.
If you fall into the crack, it seems,
You'll be in China or the Philippines.
I tell you straight, put it on the level -
It is either drainage or the devil.

Premium Member Topical Connecting Loving Hearts-

Two beating hearts
 together on top
atop of each other doesn't impart
love and yet two faces that stare
Through their eyes, they see each other's souls
Hearts beating fast allows their auras to glow

Premium Member Topical Or Tropical No Biggie

Will we use something tropical? The novice nurse asked her.
Carmae secretly rolled her eyes knowing Scarlet meant topical.
However, she did not correct her, because this was her first day.
She would gently incorporate the correct word later in her learning.
She knew Scarlet would pick up on it, they always did, eventually.

This fresh young thing was not full of brass like the last one.
She was not any kind of duplicate, yet Carmae knew she would be delicate.
They were always super sensitive right out of nursing school.
“Is that a ladybug locket?” she asked her. Scarlet nodded, pleased.

She told an elaborate story about it, and the patient seemed to be fascinated.
Scarlet was charismatic, which is a great quality for a nurse to have.
By the end of the day, Scarlet was using the word topical instead of tropical.
Neither nurse mentioned the switch, becoming wise, empathetic co-workers.

Winds, Trees, Me and You

A senryu for A Shero, heroes, and for POETRY's sake ---

I
sudden gusts of Fall -
green heroes fall in twos, threes
yes, trees, and you, me

II
Notice the saplings sway
With the winds ways, unbroken
Resist and old limbs fall

Premium Member Topical Waters of My Heart

TOPICAL WATERS OF MY HEART

casting beauty on
top the waters of my heart
must not wet my mind

for the emotions
they are real and yet dried up
mustn't get caught up

caught in heartaches drought
they are real and yet dried up
waters of my heart

'Topical Tree Poetry: Defined:'
A new form of poetry invented by me, (Mick E Talbot), utilising, the 'shape' poetry format overall. Using the 'snowball' poetry form for the trunk, and any form that makes for a good canopy. The subject material must be "topical", ie, trending, current, historical, events.

The format: The canopy; any form of poetry, 1 stanza, no restraint on the number of lines. Lines not to exceed 12 syllables.
The 'trunk'; a form referred to as a snowball. It starts with the smallest word alluding to the topic, then using synonyms increase in size by 1* letter, ending in an antonym, refer to my example poem. The whole must be centered.

* Try to make the trunk branchless, the odd knobbly bump or hole not a problem. (The latter will happen at times). You can by hitting the space bar make the branch/es, hole/s appear on one side of the trunk, Or the other, just an afterthought ;-) Mick

Ilenes Topical Fruit Market

Poetry for your consumption.
A daily dose of vitiman gumption.
The store is open, so come on in.
Say, heres a napkin, you've got some on your chin.

She's located just outside your mind.
She seems to always see what you can't find.
I know, I've searched so many times.
But have never found what she so easily rhymes.

She's been open now for three, four years.
On Poetrysoup.com, sharing with her peers.
Don't be surprized if you get a taste for her wares.
She writes on topics you'd think she's the only one who cares.

Well that's the magic that she brings to the page.
I think she'll go down in history as a wise ole' sage.
I'm not sure, but I could see it come to fruition.
People getting the fever for her intuition.

Topical Now...

Integrity of door was challenged,
walls will not take the blame.
Tension increased between believing
and non-believing.

Did we listen to moaning of night ?
There was a murder in broad day-light.
Eyes will not betray the whisking of corpse,
pallbearers were moving very fast.

I thought nothing will ever move now
not even the possessed mind.
The final page of book has been torn
and the story will never reach the end.

To become anything or something
is difficult these days.
Do we need to drink our own blood
to become great on paths of anonymity.
