Exaltation to Mary:
Queen of the Universe
Glory to God in the highest
For crowning Mama Mary among the rest
As Queen of the Universe
Queen of all Catholic/Universal believers
You are the Queen of the Universe – all terrestrial & celestial entities
The Universe – the planets, the moons, the stars & the galaxies
God bless the Universe for having Mama Mary
Oh Universal Queen, to you also glory be.
Amen.

*Exaltation to Mary as Queen of the Universe
As poets go you can't get worse. I can
Kill two sonnets; in a single verse.'
The air became beautifully calm.
The night glided in smooth as silk.
There we were alone together.

I look in the sky and I see the sun and moon
As I walked along the river at late noon
At night I can see the stars and Mars
As I sit and stare from the local bar
During the day you can see the white clouds
As they are flying all together in one big crowd
You can see all types of birds flying in the sunshine
And some that are resting on the sturdy tree vines
I keep asking myself is God some where near
As I watch young and old people wipe away their tears
I wonder is there and end to the universe
And will some day will I find our family purse
Is there a certain part of the universe our love ones hang out
Where each night in our dreams they give us a big shout
I guess one day we will all find out
And then at that time we will have no doubt
The Integrity travels a quarter million miles,
The farthest point humankind has now reached;
A flight path record in decades will sing,
When it launched at the dusk of April first.
In the night when the countdown hits zero,
At Kennedy Space Center, the rocket fires its intro;
Tearing Orion into the deep dark,
As four souls leave their only known planet.
That moment the engines strum one last time,
The ship slips from Earth's grip and sight;
Watching the sphere shrink in the window frame,
Till it's just a marbled blue note of light.
Sensing the shift of the Moon's pull,
That takes over the rhyme and symphony;
The astronauts look back at their homeland,
Hearing from Earth again is a melody.
On the far side of the Moon,
They are in total radio silence —
Just them and the stars, with the Moon between them
And the pull of a cosmos beyond human sense.
At thirty times the speed of sound, Orion hits the atmosphere,
Orange and white flowers slow the song down;
The crackling, fiery heat plays its chord,
Treble clef curve makes splashdown safe and sound..
o infinite sea of galaxies,
older than memory, wider than dreams,
earth sends you a greeting
on the fragile wings of thought.
we are dust that learned to breathe,
clay that discovered questions,
tiny sparks walking beneath sunlight
while night wraps us in your mysteries.
we watch your rivers of stars
flow across the dark sky,
and in that silent river
our wonder grows deep.
perhaps somewhere beyond our blue horizon
other minds awaken beneath alien dawns,
listening—as we do—
to the music of the endless.
so accept this ode, great cosmos:
a message carved from hope and curiosity.
from forests, deserts, and restless oceans
we salute you.
for though we are small,
our questions are vast—
and our dreams travel
as far as the stars.
The Universe corrects itself
Each and every time
What seems to get out of hand
To be too much
Extremities
Always reach a breaking point
And what is dark and bleak
Will eventually see the light
Though it comes in varying forms
It will arrive
No matter how far you have gone
No matter how high you have risen
No matter how deep of hole you dug
No matter how bruised you have gotten
The sun will rise
The moon will set
The storm will cease
The fog will lift
To fix what is broken
And reset what is fixed
All the while
The Universe keeps breathing
--
All her prayers bundled in one bubble

Tapping a biro against a mug
Waiting, but then it happens
We're closing for the day
God is sitting in my office
I've written a song for Bryan Ferry
Nobody but Bryan will do
But I don't know Bryan and
I have no way to get the song to him
Who is humming this to me?
I don't run away from the fire, I run straight towards it
I'm waiting by the phone
For the movie offer for my books
Me and Jericho, roof down, route 66
Undergoing much revision
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
At first, it was only hydrogen
humming in the dark~
a single note stretched thin
across the ribs of nothing.
Then the stars learned to count,
their bright fingers tallying
the arithmetic of light.
Galaxies folded into themselves,
remembering.
Now the void whispers equations
to any ear pressed close enough~
the gravity between thoughts,
the slow calculus of dust
forming hands and eyes
the unbearable weight
of a mind vast enough
to ask:
Am I alone?
And somewhere,
a pulse echoes back:
No.
Daughters see mothers die
Bees swarm to stay alive
New stars shine in the sky
Wolves howl at a full moon
Heartstrings from baby's cries
Flowers bloom in street cracks
A blind boy plays piano
Cars swerve to miss ducklings
Vultures claim raw roadkill
Forests regrow from fires
Some seeds can wait decades
Hence poems may make some sense
Just a dot on a dot in this universe
each being so small, until traversed
to unit with creation larger than life
to feel the force, just to be... without strife
Despite the universe existing inside each of us
Why can’t we love in its way?
It screams at us,
reminds us every night and day.
I wonder how much the world would be different
If we love each other
Just like,
We love every shade of sky
every color of rainbow &
every phase of moon
If we accept each other
Just like,
We accept the grief of clouds
the rage of storm &
the loneliness of mountains
It isn’t afraid to teach us.
We are the ones who refuse to learn
though, we aren’t to be blamed for,
Our nature is.
After all we are simply human.
