I’m tired of the teeter-totter polemics
that pass for profundity.
I’m tired of the see-saw tug of war,
the streaming regurgitation on every channel.

Yes, I’m weary of the predictable posturing,
the vapid, barren landscapes of the oligarchy.
I am groggy in the dull fog of capitalist pretense,
the plutocratic hubris sold by carnival barkers.

I am worn down by the endless banal chatter,
the mindless daily clutter flooding all our
electronic screens, all our senses.

Scientists in a million years will
try to decipher our primitive etchings.
Our digital scribble will remain.
Will they recognize our AI ventriloquism?
Will they distinguish us from chimpanzees?

I don’t have answers in my advancing years.
I’ll find cozy books and trees instead,
while we still have them.

The Word Teeter Totter
He used the word teeter totter.
It surprised me, because I never hear it any more.
I said, “Where did you learn that word?”
He did not know which one I meant.
I said, “How do you know about a teeter totter?”
He said, “I was born on a teeter totter.”
An interesting visual for sure.

A teeter-totter of the pair

All saying
Goodness is not all good.
Good things should be acceptable.
Not being good is not due to badness.

Badness is not all bad.
Bad things should be atrocious.
Not being wicked is not goodness.

A duel of Love and Happiness,
Root for either one.
Which side is jumping higher?
Clap, clap, cheer, cheer.

I'd stand by the latter
'cause of no shadow to follow.

Spring seems to teeter-totter back and forth,
as Winter counterchecks each move it makes
to wiggle free from the grip of the North.
Winter has both feet firmly on the brakes,
aiming to stay put, whatever it takes.

April rains morph into flurries of snow;
and disappointment fuels frustration.
There are few signs that Spring will ever show;
and Hope morphs into a sad sensation,
as Winter extends Her occupation.

Though Winter's overextended Her stay,
some daffodils are beginning to sprout;
and migrating songbirds are on their way.
Spring will arrive; of that, there's little doubt;
but I miss Her most when it's snowing out.

When the soil thaws, it's Winter's undoing,
as patches of grass embroider the scene.
The snowmen melt, while life starts renewing;
and grey skies slowly turn aquamarine,
as Spring unfurls leaves of emerald green.

Teeter Totter

I washed myself, I watched myself
I've cleaned hurts so deep.
I told myself, I mold myself.
I've lost the balance of my feet.

Teeter, totter, teeter, totter
Where do you stand?
Drinks Saturday nights
Sunday Bible in your hands

Teeter, totter, teeter, totter
Where do you stand?

I lost myself, I stopped myself
I finally came clean
I want myself, I love myself
I found the greater me

Teeter, totter, teeter, totter
Where do you stand?
Lord, lift me up now
I trust where I will land.

Teeter, totter, teeter, totter
Where do you stand?

Teeter Totter

From grief.....................closure grows;
From pain......................experience grows.

The shadows of the grotesque.............highlight the beauty;
The shadows of loss ............................highlight the value.

Blood is the fire of both destruction............ and creation,
From the ashes of death..................new life will be born.

Fear is irreconcilable,
Don’t let it wreck the balance.

Teeter totter poem

Standing on a razor sharp edge,
Just like balance that has a wedge,
Swaying on either of two sides,
Positive and negative, life is a teeter totter ride!

It's sometimes love, other times sorrow,
Some humble words, some harsh ego,
Immense pleasure , at times great horror,
Peace in world, more of hostility and terror !

Whenever tried to live a balanced life,
Always encountered some new strife,
And on a tottering platform as I lied,
Testing times for me, no one to guide!

Good enchants and bad depresses,
Confidence blesses and loss suppresses,
Every aspect essential for a complete life,
Melody of music comes of the teeter totter pipe!
