No matter how
Ugly the mind is
It will be happy
To receive a flower.
No time to shop
A delivery package
From unknown sender
In front of your door.
No money for
Birthday celebration
A dawning serenade will do
A heartfelt surprise.
Life has a way of surprising us,
Sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse.
But we will rise, regardless of who stays or leaves,
Because a single bad incident is not your entire journey,
And life doesn’t stop there.
Neither does your growth.
So let the storms come, and let them pass,
For in their wake, we find new beginnings.
It was November first, Hedgehog Grandpa’s birthday.
"We’ve got to be going!" Mom was yelling that day.
The one that was keeping us back was brother Gay.
A slow poke again, on that cool Saturday.
"I am leaving now." The voice was loud, from Dad.
"I am right behind you!" I yelled. My name is Thad.
My mother was holding a gift, so that is rad.
Because it is the birthday of H.G., our granddad.
As we headed down to Gramp’s tree, Gay caught up.
He had six excuses, most of them about having to sup.
He was still carrying a bit of toast and a coffee cup.
"When we get there," Dad said “You had better shape up!”
Grandpa came to the door and yelled “I’ll be!”
If anyone acted surprised ever, it was certainly he.
We do this every year, but still this pleased thee.
“Happy birthday!” I yelled to Grandpa. He said "You surprised me!"
From life sprouts the sudden
this surprise is what we have
to live an amazing entire life!
Unexpected, no less bucolic,
between the slabs of buildings,
surprising morning rooster crowing!
It’s truly surprising
given their feelings
that climate activists
have not sent us all reeling
with words that convey
the dire straits we are in
like ‘Climate Pandemic’
~ then the battle they’d win
I wonder if there are Elders
wise
or more perennially surprised
who, looking back at their youth,
regret all their erotic time
invested in having peak
experiential sex,
And wish they had, instead,
done something, most anything,
more left brain dominant,
more theoretically
politically correct,
more economically prominent.
I so hope not.
Better off, I feel sure,
invested in abundant splatters of messy,
sometimes musical, health
Than overly divested
away from EarthTribe's gloriously peaking race
carried away by abstemious matters
of more disciplined pace
for securing capital infested wealth.
History surprises, opens chest of past to show future present
She wore her spirit
it was flowing
in the drift the atmosphere was sweet
when she was present
her soul the brights of her eyes
did shine ever so
her heart was beating

Nurtured her surroundings
Embracing
The water for sweat drenching her body
When she is present she shines as silk
Skins golden shines glistering
O' did she so shine so
Her soul blossoms

The darkness is letting in the dawn
A new day, dew on the lawn.
Birdsong rising as the sun rises,
nature is magnificent,
always surprising.
for the sake of adventure
Let us love what has to come,
at least for benefit of surprise
Amazing visit
anonymous butterfly
lands on my shoulder
To feel this warmth, now
overwhelming me, is
Joy
That giving these gifts
brings such gratitude, was
Surprising
Yet, as much my gift to me
Are you coming back?
Perhaps
If you see me with glistening face
my insides swelling, know
Tears
It is only my soul
touching new places inside,now
Spilling
Into this life too long barren of you
awakening possibilities, is
Hope
From twenty feet I saw him
when he first looked at me
I really took his breath away.
He looked at me as if he had
seen me in his dreams a thousand times.
We exchanged 'Hellos.'
He remains a mystery.
Still
it was a nice
pleasant surprise
and I saw it
with my own eyes.
There are some mornings I have the feeling you are staring right at me.
A meaningful look is giving me notice I'm always there in your sight.
Even if its from the distance, I know your always right there for me.
You take a look just to see if I am okay.
Just in case I haven't told you.
Each morning I think of you.
It's a beautiful feeling knowing you're my reason to be passionate.
You inspire me to move forward in life. If I got with the program
I couldn't do it without your guidance.
Guidance from a wise man full of knowledge and experience.
I come towards you for your guidence and advice.
Your successful outcomes have shown me the how to manuever myself with
Strategies in which I will pass on
You seek for my wellbeing and honey I appreciate everything you do for me. Each moment your not present I feel as If life was giving me a physical beat down. Those are the moment where my vulnerabilities come to play. You've shown me how to improve my flaws and switch them into strengthening skills. I only wish I were as brave as you are.
