Wonder
Blue gold treasure
Good crowning see food catches
Stops by land for a split second
Ocean
Beach bum in August felt wild in the breeze,
strutted 'round trying to appease the seas.
He posed with his beach flip-flops,
did daring loops and hip-hops~
‘till waves proved his swagger was just a tease.
Days grow shorter apace
the sun races ‘cross the sky
Evening shadows intrude
on our afternoons
The waves collapse a bit
day-by-day in on themselves
Summer’s endless surf
~ stowaway on the shelf
Hitchhiking by blurred station generic
Gypsy Flora slips anonymous, gravel
Grinds her heart of garbage, barbaric
Buried skeleton stirred, further travel
Ticket to Keep It Secret
Scarred in fish guts grubby, harbour
Heaves its putrid out to sea, amnesia
Avails an arbour over bleak macabre
Mutineer hurled ragdoll dumb, seizure
Saline dreams Dali delirium
Draped clock face, Flora's flailing coma
Collides with shore, format felicitous
Ferocious ocean spews sweet soma
Segued fortunate Flora duplicitous
Digs over fingers scratching
Sea sparks zesty spirit, crystal clairvoyant
Clavicle thrummed during tumble turquoise
Touched pitching ceiling, delight buoyant
Blackened flotsam, frivolous foam destroys
Destined to nest content

Surf Fishing
fishing
the rolling surf
cast, wait, haul in, recast
again. I catch nothing but don't
really care
surf lovers always
high season in hawaii
waxed hair slim bodies
love is osmosis
something absorbed
it creeps up on you
right through your pores
it can't be avoided
unless there is no contact
it generates heat...
and a yearning for contract
Love has moved mountains
love has dug depths
Love can pull you into a emotional wreck
A spiral up... a spiral down
the elevator underground
Love knows no bounds
Love knows no time
it continues on without reason or rhyme
Love can take you to the depths of your very soul
cradle you in comfort, be your end goal
and how do you turn it off that was your question I know?
I haven't a clue I am just a bard for you...
What is love? don't you know?
What is Love? don't you know? ohhhhh?
What is Love? don't you know?
Love has moved mountains
love has dug depths
Love can pull you into a emotional wreck
Love knows no bounds
Love knows no time
it continues on without reason or rhyme
Love can take you to the depths of your very soul
cradle you in comfort, be your end goal
What is love? don't you know?
What is Love? don't you know? ohhhhh?
What is Love? don't you know?
feet displacing sand
water filling up the space
imprint vanishing
I went to the butchers to get me some fish
I asked for some haddock to bake in a dish
The butcher said, “Sir, if it’s fish that you’re after,
You’ve picked the wrong place and you couldn’t pick dafter.”
He said, “If you want fish you want the fishmonger,
I know cos I bought some fish when I was younger.”
To find the fishmonger did not take too long
In order to find it I followed the pong
I didn’t want fish bones to stick in my teeth
So went in and asked for a nice piece of beef
The man was abrupt, he was no politician
He said, “I’m no butcher, Sir… I’m an optician.”
loose, lacy, white - a flowing blouse
the muse left clues in green-gray eyes
an outlier near the lighthouse-ocean
the seabreeze salty and windswept
foreshadowing of quill and paper
before she knew what to say
before the euphoria of surf
leapt up and touched her fingertips
before she learned to grasp
shadows and shapes, beyond the pale
moon and muted sun
dandelion seeds and towering
sunflowers kissed the blue sky
she’s a mere child, shy and unseen
seeded by the realm of poets
that came before her
the unknowns with journals
antique paper with vanishing ink
the poets with landscapes
that look out of their lighthouses
and see potential
perspicuity, peculiarity
themselves as a child
and open the window
let the little girl get a taste
of ebb and flow, pen and ink
The surf pounds and pounds against the shore
Never ceasing, onward rushing and rushing,
Engulfing the sand, eating it up,
swallowing it down, spitting it out again
A tree stands proudly, towering, its limbs swaying in the sea breeze
Half in sun, half in shade
Sunset is approaching
--the shadows grow and grow
Soon will come the night--
A willow weeps in darkness.
with a short referee sparred
life of son had been marred
when he received a red card
tough thought tried to dawn
son Shawn who became a pawn
serve in Army had gone
longed to see a leaping lizard
being absorbed when big blizzard
turned Shawn into weird wizard
When Shawn would really rally
while he did dilly down in valley
for long time had surfed with Howie
Sunny the goblin
Was a very joyful troll
With a blue surfboard and a stately pose
Down the beach he would stroll
Sunny the goblin
Is a happy bloke they say
He surfs well you know
Loves the seaside so
He will live here one day
He built a shack right on the beach
He built it on sturdy ground
No dinner he had a *paddle pop instead
And began to dance around.
Oh Sunny the Goblin
Was sun tanned as could be
And the people say
He could surf all day
Just the same as *Midge Farrelly
Oh Sunny the goblin
Knew the surf was up that day
So he said lets do some surfing in the sun
So they surfed all the day
Down to the surf shop
With a surfboard in his hand
Buying gear to wear
New T-shirts everywhere
This place was surf gear land
He bought new board shorts for a pound
And a new summer top
He could have bought lots more
But they were closing the shop
Hmm Sunny the Goblin
Had to hurry on his way
With a little sigh he waved goodbye
Great shopping here today
Thumpety, thump thump, thumpety, thump thump
The sand's so hot it glows!
Thumpety, thump thump, thumpety, thump thump
Sunny carries his board running on his toes.!
For hygiene no hope,
No recourse to soap,
Cleanliness for rope
Germs no longer grope;
Easy patrols: lope
To those who hate soap
Do you ever cope?
All Catholics Nope!”
For I could tell Pope.
Soap is Next father
Of laundry’s lather
Dwarfed only by surf
But to Dirt still rough
Use it no odour
You’ll smell the other.
Beach day adventures
are like delicious chocolate cookies
where the sea meets the coast
grounded beyond your comfort zone
intertwined with flavors of the sunset
flowing in the skyline
and footprints scattered everywhere
like a canvas of scenic artwork on the sand bank
a paradise where guitars and lovers
igniting their enthusiasm for life
with the soothing sounds of Goombay
and the beauties of sand and surf
