Summarize Poems | Examples

Premium MemberWriting Poetry

Poems may be simple, try writing a rhyme,
add some images to make it sublime.
Simple words may make meaningful phrases,
difficult words can turn into mazes.

You could write a Limerick, just for fun,
don’t forget a surprise before you’re done.
Write a nice Haiku, a scene of nature,
like flowing mountain streams with water pure.

A Sonnet would be nice before you’re through,
three verses of four, the last one is two.
Choose your own rhyme scheme, the last two must rhyme,
here’s my last two to summarize this time.

By writing a poem, you’re given a way,
to share with others what you have to say.

Outgoing President a Disaster

Fired shots that smelt not their target,
Gold digger far away from nugget;
Plight of the masses fought the wrong way:
Not one of them did meet a bright day...

Your pictures in offices fidget,
The days left I count with each digit.
You have the ship steered; You've had your say
But the whole thing looks perfect child's play.

What more would one want to analyze?
It might even lips paralyze.
Not a single thing will normalize:
"More Hardship!" If I should summarize.

A wonder you did that legislate:
What won't my punishment mitigate;
We all saw what figures indicate
Which dull child can't the problems locate?

Outgoing president: A Disaster:
Eight years back dying to be Master...

Ghost of Carton Color

Let us the issues finalize:
Two more topics just analyze
One can narrative summarize;
On dryness water canalize...
Why ghosts in places crystallize:
If dreams through them materialize?

Ghost I'd seen of carton color,
Its look that of obvious pallor;
Had good money in carton;
While human dropped by a Paton
"You come back with it in a week!"
But killer drugs had him made weak...

Now Ghost keeps repeating"Carton"
And sometimes"Sorry, Sir Paton!!

Bearers Their Names Pressurize

Now, many things we accept,
Nearly each conveyed precept:
Bearers their names pressurize
And life's success summarize:
Sure serpent' who is Linda;
Access to God could hinder
"Sauls" to burn like a cinder
"Dinah's" denied Umbrella
"Tamars" Destined Cinderella
You answer to David 'King'
You choose Jonathan 'you cling'
Nobody risks the name Job,
For Satan might come to rob
And you don't bear Jezebel
For against God you'd rebel...

Premium MemberTomorrow's Day

See tomorrow's day
Seek tomorrow's prize
The sun gives way to the storm
The suddenness of surprise
Calmness will return
Life itself survives
Yesterday has taught us well
Sermons summarize
Today whether bad or good
It's presence we strive
Pray with faith
That fate be realized.

Epitaph

I understood perfectly what you meant about all the colors between black and gray and it is true that the hours have more minutes than they say so I will always be silent in the line of the discontented and condemned because this is a silent job to be averse to the course of the river.

when the world prepared all these traps it was clear that I would fall into each one of them and these painful wounds attest to much more than just ignorance or naivety because I believed in an absurd retribution of kindness and how fate would be grateful to my detachment from everything .

I have already prepared the final speech to be recorded in sepia on the board and I was not surprised to realize that only two words will suffice to summarize this path entirely traced in darkness, dizziness and tumbles:

well done.

Shakespearean’s my fave.
Specific rules apply.
Stick with iambic feet.
Syllables? Ten per line
Standards say three quatrains.
See rules for how they rhyme!
Summarize with couplet.

In a Few Words

To summarize
One thing
In a few words
Seems impossible
To me because
Everything’s complex
And beautiful
In its own way
And cannot be
Simply described
In a few words
Or less
Nothing is so
Unimportant that
It can be
Shown in a
Single sentence
The world is
Made of so
Many complicated
And wild things
That are sometimes
Too much to
Comprehend even
For the greatest
Minds of the time
And so I
Cannot just say
How I feel
In direct words,
So can I
Just say that
My feelings are
Indescribable?
But I can
Say that they
Make me feel
Things I’ve never
Felt before, but
I like them
So I’ll continue
On and try to
Learn more about
Them and try
To express them
As well as I can
So we can
Have a good
Time together!

Time and Destination

relentless clock
anchors the room
snapping as it ticks
amplified tenor

animated arms
sweep the arc
arrows point
hours passed

flashes
photographed the past
sense
explodes the seconds

henchmen trail hours
summarize
darkness
time devours

silence holds no treasure
fragrance without a breeze
sunlight looms foreboding
aft of thorny trees

life held glitter
forged a steel refrain
remembrance blotted the stain
hands of time shall chain

the player’s is script written
with title and refrain
curtains fall
silence blankets life’s vacant stage

Multi Tasking

can you summarize
proust's remembrance
of things past in less

then a minute and a half
while juggling an egg
a chainsaw and a

bowling ball
standing on one leg
whistling parts of bizet's

habanera from carmen
or if you can't do that
at least while driving

use
your
turn signal

Distraction

So much time has I spent,
Reading to others for enjoyment,
Rather looking up for my present,
To summarize my past that He had lent.

Ridiculous!Ridiculous!Ridiculous!

How I wish to step up my game,
Give it up and raise my plane,
Like those ivories that were made,
Alas! I choose to be late.

Forevermore, I'm still late,
Glued to bobtube, caxtons and be laid,
Now I'm concerned more on these baits,
Please God! Give me a chance to repent.

Premium MemberA Voice In the Wilderness

Suitcase in hand, a face polarized against
the frosted window pane, searching verily
for continuity of a life that knew no restraint.
Someone’s Grandfather a considerate Uncle,
life’s situation upon the wane, a link within
the prejudicial chain of forfeited souls.
One’s transitions ablaze in the haze, an index
to summarize each hiatus gaze, grappling to come
to terms with this enforced deed of human kindness.
Guided by caring hands, assembled around the room
each demising chair, filled tidily with expressions
of doom and gloom, here where silence specifies
many words, and lifelong sentiment never heard. Yet
I see an old man in remembrance of his youth —
worth listening to if allowed to speak!*

*Thank you Richard Lamoureux. for the inspiration and line.
