THANK YOU TEARS FOR MAKING ROOM FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO ALLOW ME TO SMILE AGAIN.
I rose through the ranks ready to rumble
Panama is ours! I yelled into a jumble
Are you delirious asked a mob of thirty-three?
Guess I am for I just had my Fox News lobotomy.
Sending, receiving, a day-to-day living
With all bits and pieces that look quite alike
Once you step back, there’s no sign of retrieving
As if your body and mind went on strike
It isn’t much different kind of existence
Everything goes, as it used to, although
Something is missing, or put on a distance
Which is in practice the same, as you know
Can be sublimenal, can be quite conscious
Most likely both, like I see it today
Rescued from contacts, you’re thinking of us
But what is the content, will you ever say?
Helium filled balloons
Rose above the weary
Casket impaled with in
The crevice onlooker’s teary
Dressed in black
No one bright
Send off to the dead
No dry eye in sight
There is always
A story to be told
Car crash death
Young or old
Sickness and disease
All ends the same
Heart stops beating
Soul loss is to blame
Adieu to the dead
Whatever path they take
Nothing is set in stone except
An epitaph for the livings’ sake
I thought she knew
She thought he knew
We thought they knew
They thought we knew
So not knowing
No one knew
We all knew
But weren’t sure
Of what it was
We knew
light, laughter, love
distilled,
chilled into thought;
and there is no above,
as this
is brought to ourselves,
as a rain
disproportionate
to any expectation
before birth.
more was never
an answer
for all
our unasked questions
subliminally,
we knew
it all
came with us
that forever
it is the heart
of all we shall become.
Stimulus excreted
Sinuously invades
Subconsciously corrupts
Suggestive images
Seeded, sneakily sown
Sacrificial victim
Satiability owns

I refuse to remember
what I can never forget
Words lost to my memory,
lined deep with regret
The faster I write,
the deeper I hide
A reckoning hovers
—forgiveness denied
(Dreamsleep: February, 2021)
Prejudice is subliminal.
We all have it, even those of us who think we do not.
Let’s say….
Carl is humiliated and embarrassed in a bedroom with yellow flowers.
From now until he reworks the script, all bedrooms with yellow flowers are the enemy.
We loathe yellow flowers his brain tells him, not knowing why.
He never gives a yellow flower a chance.
Each time he thinks he hates one, he programs his brain to agree.
He never gives a yellow flower a chance.
Prejudice is subtle.
We all have it, even those of us who think we do not.
Let’s say….
Kathy is bullied by a girl with freckles, who makes her feel horrible for six school years.
From now until she reworks the script, all people who have freckles are the enemy.
We hate people with freckles! Kathy’s brain tells her, she does not even know why.
But she never gives a freckled person a chance.
Every time she says to herself, I hate people with freckles she reinforces her cell memory.
Prejudice is subliminal and subtle.
If we can figure out who wronged us or where we were wronged
And rework the script, we might be able to eliminate it.
Quietly streaming
through the breath of dreams
in clouds
the whispers came
in colors from scarlet to midnight
with secrets known in our deepest places
where sacred words
disappear in measureless time
Words that speak
in amaranthine languages
of persona and subliminal
origins and ancestry
inexhaustible and ever present
For the leaves were talking
in their green shimmer and shake
and sway
with
words grounded to trees
spreading in patterns
on currents of chaos
in zephyrs off rivers flow
blowing
Streaming through the breath of dreams
in clouds

Birds cackle overhead
in the grey mews
as wind lisps around
the dead children
held in the arms of
ancient wisened trees
Whispers jump from raindrops
while my eyes flirt with imagination

a Colombian sink hole
a waxed surf board
fertile crescent silt
a half cut fig
an asterix
Orion's Belt
sun rise rays rising
Pisa's leaning tower
a rollercoaster zipping down
a dog drooling
Apollo 11 on the pad

two pair of eyes staring
cherry topped ice cream dollops
rapid hovering hummingbird wings
time lapse glacial floe flowing
sweat on the brow of Rodin's "Thinker"
Moses' Red Sea parting
me kneeling for forgiveness
a tree knot's sap turning to syrup
an anteater's tongue dipping licking
a poker stoking a fire
a Venus Fly Trap slowly closing
faithfully Old Faithful geysering
steam whistles screaming
London Tower falling down
an O'Keefe's iris sighing in pastel
two cigarette butts
an ashtray asleep
~Foreshadow From Thee Sublime Sunlight In The Subliminal Black Of The Lighter Mind~
Fore What Work Be Done, Fore
Which Is Done Yet, Be Done
Unto Humanity, Which Is Thy Soul,
That Which Encomber, To Thy Test
Of The Mind, They'n Will Be
Done, To Show What is To Do,
Yet Thus Which is not Yet Seen
Done . . . What Does Doth On Thee,
To Test, Which is to Do . . . Yet
Is Have Not Done Yet, This
Be Done, This, Yet is Me Thyn, Fore
What I Will Do, is
Not Done Yet.
Ephemeral Versus Subliminal
When it happened must have been precursory
To fact there once was a major controversy
Between each thought that remains subliminal
Ending up being short-lived and ephemeral.
So to some facts you started being resigned
Not only is it restricted but a narrow mind
As to way we perceive and see all things
And with them all of the discomfort it brings.
If you have been both breathing and ventilating
Face turns red and many things are humiliating
Bernie has been know to talk you to death
But Hillary's great speeches take away your breath.

The pain that used to be my thorns
Red roses were born
Love torned
The nasty scars weren’t healed
But my broken self, I’ve rebuilt
I have been walking over an endless dessert
My hunger for water, became lesser.
I can’t be better
The silent screams that turned me owl
The faceless soul detached, I’ve stood up devoured.
The odes of elegy I used to write for you
Turn the page for a haiku of optimism and fate
This is my current state
Your empty feelings, burned bridges for me
Now, can’t you see?
My pain, my grief
Your freedom, your new leaf
Turn the wheels
You are now crawling for stilts
Allow me to rejoice your karma
While you lurk in guilt and I get to wear the tiara.
