INSPIRATION

On the shopping chanel
They sold a watch
Not the chanel
I wanted to watch

Inspiration I need
Not a watch
Come on please
Help me plot

Seen a sketch show
The other night
Would you know
Not a drawing in sight

Fact of the mattter
Was total uncanny
A bunch of actors
Revealing their insanity

I shook my head
Questioning my entire
Turned to Bob Ross instead
Didn't help me inspire

Asked a friends help
To Paint my living room
Detail the shelves
Make it all bloom

They turned up confused
With eyes like starlets
As I started to use
My easel and palette

Maybe I had the answer
Hopefully not too late
To copy Frida Kahlo
I tried a self portrait

I set up my Canvas
And got a bit confused
After a few hours past
I got a bit amused

With all to two and fro
Heads start to spinner
I really let it go
And painted the mirror

Maybe Art ain't my passion
As I can't find Inspiration
I could try Fashion
But sharp pins and perspiration

Not to mention scissors slips
May be a big disaster
Fingers and meat that fits
Like that dress by Lady Ga Ga

Premium MemberWhat lies in the void of scope

The deeper you look the more you see,
in the space between entities.
If I take a stronger scope, what will I see?
More stars, with less space between.
Stronger again, yields more and more smaller stars
hidden between the lines in the void,
avoiding detection by being
beyond the limits of perceptions scope.
I must try harder to fill the gaps by expanding the scope.
by filling-in the potholes of space between the stars
with starlets, twinkles and sparkles,
hidden away and awaiting discovery,
in the emptiness I feel,
when the stars fail to deliver for me.

Premium MemberThe Actor Factor

If I were an actor on the big screen

With the cameras on me in every scene

I'd race for NASCAR on any old day

Date a couple starlets along the way

I could be Rhett to Scarlett O'Hara

Maybe I'd co-star with Rooney Mara

I'd be Maverick streaking across the skies

Or start a fight with ten blueberry pies

I could rob some banks with Bonnie and Clyde

Hang with Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde

I might act like Steve Martin in the Jerk

Battle Klingons with Captain James T. Kirk

Sail today on a Spanish flotilla

Or run away from Kong and Godzilla

I'd rule Mr. Robinson's neighborhood

Anything's possible in Hollywood

Pouring Light

Cigar but no cigar
extinguished by the elders
Gaslighting commissioners held in tweed
The night people slide in between

Pouring light
velvet dolls
play with their own discord
electric spears happenstance
pale Harlequins of the night
scratch their gilded fears

outstretched hands
that jabs the line
of ghost trains

Stacked chips
sequined starlets shinge
Rhinestone streakers parade
paying homage
to pipers never paid
who snort energy in spoons

The Moon Is a Poet

Looking into the solitude of the night sky,
the monochromatic beauty of the moon.
Reflecting like shimmer onto the tired waves, making tides out of them, lovers croon.

Churning out lyrics into the still of the dusk,
it emerges like a poet, cajoling with words.
So serene, so pure, they make us rejoice,
in the humdrum of life, playing its musical chords.

She brings along her starlets like magical sparkles, as they twinkle to the lyrical keys in her poetry.
She resonates in the eyes of the onlookers,
when she spins her syllables proud and free.

Night People

Paper machinations
steam blase
A lineage of a story
gives blurry eyed account
Velvet accorance
the seats are tweed

Whilst those bewailed on newspaper lined bench's
steal sleep
Tramps in grey silhouette
chew on dead cigars

Sequenced starlets
cruise soothsayers in Marylebone
Dancers kick their manniquet stance
worship the jaws of night
turn grey in disown

Evening Breeze and Jasmine

Half moon, moth, and raven
Silhouettes
All are witness to my writing

Peaceful April haven
As sun sets
And the twilight brings good tidings

Evening breeze and jasmine
Find their way
Like a lullaby to my soul

Tiny starlets dazzling
Vines that sway
Wrap ‘round my heart and make me whole.

The Silver Tread of Fame

I tread the sheer silver sheen walk in a daze
The glitter carpet clutching earths gaze
Scintillating starlets spread
Moonlights sparkling thread
I dare to
Tread
Cold with blue
Where frosted grains wed
Spry flitting lights forge ahead
Amidst celebrity wintry maze
I tread the sheer silver sheen walk in a daze

Blood Moon

This April night, the jasmines sigh
a gentle, fragrant breath
like fallen stars, they watch the sky
envious of death

Tethered, earthbound, by their vines
how cruel, these crafty ropes
yet still they fail now to confine
the faintest of all hopes

When upon the stroke of midnight
the moon became as blood
vermillion shadows snuff the light
now outshone by a bud

A single, white, celestial bloom
with dew each petal drips
gazes at the scarlet moon
so woefully eclipsed

While stars can live for eons
star jasmines live one moon
both own the night like neon
though one is gone too soon

A blood moon, even rarer still
envies every star
a prophecy too soon fulfilled
yet leaves no lasting scar

When the last jasmine flourishes
for me, sad joy it brings
while ruby moonlight nourishes
and silver starlets sing

And how it wishes, how it yearns
to escape this earthly sphere
and twinkle down each lyric learned
to this observer here.

Bemoaned

He is dead, many confirmed.
I am sad for the people who knew him,
though I never did.
to me he will always be 'what's his name.'

He died peacefully in the eye of a tornado,
he died on a bus to the City of Angels.
it was so sudden
a shock to all our systems
caught us all off-guard
minds reeling
as we contemplated the loss.

May his wig be kept embalmed in aspic.
May his chin and its infamous dimple
be cast in Plaster of Paris
a template for a million molds.
May the print of his feet
be tattooed upon
the lower back of all middle aged
starlets
a tragic headline be embossed
on the backside of the moon.

Ring the grave church bell
walk a mournful walk as well,
respectfully talk of a life;
its celebrated grace, its unexpected fall
one we never knew or now recall at all.

Premium MemberAlong the Star Trail

Through the vast expanse of the sky
In the caliginous night
A lone bright star trailed along
Was it Sirius- the pole star
Navigating the sailors of the sea?
No, it started its journey
From the Heaven’s imperial threshold
And through hindering clouds
Made its way, shining bright
Its lambent rays dancing in glee
Making bright everything under the sky

All starlets of the firmament cowered in shame
And hid in remote corners dark

This celestial light piloted the three wise kings
Who from the East had traveled a long way
To see infant Jesus, with gifts in their hands

Crossing hills and dells, moors and mounts
With the star travelling over their heads
The magi reached Bethlehem
Wherein beheld the Star of stars, the son of God
In the simplest of dwelling, in a stable

In this season when hundreds of stars shine
Here, there and in every house and spire
A humble prayer rises from our hearts
‘Through Life’s weary highway as we pass
Let your light pilot us like a lighthouse
Ere we drown in a wind tossed sea’!
