Best Starlets Poems
Angels in twilight
Reflections of affections
Dancing in starlight
When angels entwine
Harmonic explosions of devotions
A love divine
When angels embrace
Roses and wine will make you mine
With satin and lace
When angels dance
Starlets on fire with great desire
A burning romance
When angels fly
Dropping wishes of kisses
Amidst the jasmine sky
When angels sing
Humming in orchestral celestial
Vibrations in their wing
When angels dream
Marshmallow clouds over the crowds
Sitting on soft lavish green
When angels cry
Tears of wasted years
Reflections in my eye.

Brilliance and Madness
Howard Robard Hughes
Famously rich recluse
Dreams led him to the lap of luxury
Followed by nightmarish mysophobic OCD
Rich playboy aviator Howard Hughes
With movie starlets kept himself amused
Dated Katherine Hepburn
Bette Davis took her turn
And still more, which kept the tabloids confused
Born Howard Robard Hughes to a rich family
With English, Welsh and French Huguenot ancestry
Enjoyed a successful multi-faceted business career
But aviation and aerospace were his favorite frontier

Ravishing Predawn Vision, Return To Me
My panacea, vision shining forth, wee hours of morn
Her chatoyant hair, flowed in my all consuming dreams
Her demure gaze, always smiling, never a look of scorn
In paradise, ingénue bathing in moonlit magical streams.
Ineffable appearance, stardust in hair healed heart so torn
Something intangible, mellifluous echoed with her words
Tasting of honey, her kiss removed my heart so forlorn
Her lissome dance was as easy as mere flight to birds.
Cynosure born, her beauty sent me into a trance
Such glamor, Hollywood starlets would die to possess
In love, I boldly begged for her sempiternal dance
For that affront, my princess gave me her last caress.
Never again, did mornings glow with her grace and soft kiss.
Beauty's perfection, my grieving soul will forever miss.

CAR COURT
Enter, the older heavyweight steel giant,
The bailiff, a 1954 Hudson, reads unhesitant :
On the docket for this morning : guilty by implication - a Trabant,
In close custody with a Cutlass Supreme for supervision.
Next on the docket: a Pinto for likely gas-tank explosion.
Third on the docket: an English-made car (any marque) - body corrosion.
Lawyer for the prosecution, a pretentious character, a gas guzzler SUV
4x4 off-road with winch - for Saturday use on driveway only -
Hangs out with Vettes; and uses NO2 in fuel. Who?Drugs? Not me!
Downbeat guy as the defence counsel , a solid no nonsense Hummer,
A real enviro-bummer,
Klutzy ugly and personality like a mack truck in summer.
Trabant coughed its way to the stand.
Clerk of court Volkswagen, order in hand,
Read the indictment quietly, efficiently, bland.
Prosecution began with noisy opening musical-horn tunelets
The jury, all serious-minded stolid Volvos and Toyota Starlets
Were not impressed. Hummer clumsily interrupted with an objection, “Let’s
Stop, on the grounds of precedent,” but at this point Pinto reversed,
Crushed its trunk and its gas-tank exploded, and worst ,
Hit the the English car : and into flames they both burst.
Cutlass argued with the SUV, which was winched away pending sentence.
Case against the English car dismissed from lack of evidence.
Trabant was deported back to Germany: no import licence
Overseeing all these proceedings : the ever-reliable, I-won’t-budge,
The I-have-a-spotless-reputation, I-hold-no-grudge,
The mechanical virgin, the silent Rolls Royce as judge.

Starlets tender their heralded names
Just another pretty face; another superficial dame
Brokered pawns in tawdry, transparent game
Bartered tinder is their trite acclaim
Stars that twinkled then imploded in combustible flame
Fickle lives; filthy lucre their singular aim
Pleasing the masses with articial drama their claim to fame
Egotistical debutantes who proudly gilded their shame
Fealty and familial bonds with pleasure they did cripple, mame
Fading memories that inspired more of the same
Burnished symbols remembered only by their surname

July is the month of monsoon rains in our part of the land when there will be incessant downpour and flooding in coastal areas and low lying lands
In the vast expanse up so high,
In the caliginous July night sky,
A lone star trailed along from Heaven’s arch,
And through hindering clouds it did march.
Its lambent rays dancing in gleeful light,
Making everything luminously bright.
All starlets cowered in shame,
Hiding in corners, fearing blame.
It got stationed above a thatched manger,
Where baby Jesus lay swaddled in rags in rainy weather
Promising the gift of love and joy to mankind
Assuring everyone salvation and peace of mind.
The wind that blows is icy chill
Freezing cold is the water of the rill
Trees stand washed in rain
The sky, in greying clouds remain
Lights from nearby houses shine
Sending out a radiance divine
Christmas trees stand finely decorated
Cribs are colourfully illuminated
Stars and festoons can’t be hung in the open,
As in pouring rain, they may be broken.
July is not a month fit for the king to take birth,
Who has come to bless the world with cheery mirth
Yet, the whole land is vibrant with festivity.
The pouring rain hasn’t doused the gaiety.
Sunshine or rain, no matter the weather,
Friends and family are happy together.
Christmas wraps every heart in cheer,
Though it falls in July, the rainy month of the year!

From every side of a culture filled with "pop"
I could flip through five thousand channels non-stop
Surfing through waves of Pepsi and Spears
wading through starlets priming in mirrors
Oh, Oh!! Its Paris! Never more substantial things to see
I hope her new BFF is Britney, or Whitney...or Whatever
I saw Miss Hilton's soul walk out of her lithe body
It looked like a celaphane bag filled with pink cotton candy
Walking chin up with Tyra, picking our next Top Model
to marry the next American Idol on a special
edition of "Making the Bachelor of Love"
Oh the Humanity! Oh the Reality!
They found true love on TV....Isn't life botoxiful??

Sometimes I sit in wonder,
Thinking about
All the stories
I so fondly
Remember from Uncle
Walter; telling me
About his experiences during WWII, oh so many
Years ago.
There were so many stories of considerable note but
Only the ones where he danced with many of
Those movie “starlets” at the
“Hollywood Canteen” still brings joy to my heart for him.
Each time he was there, many of those beautiful women
Sought his handsome and genteel 6’4” company on the dance floor.
Then out of the hundreds of G.I’s on the dance floor,
Ava Gardner ran up to him saying “Hello Walter, I saw you when you came in the door!”
Receiving a permanent war disability and never married, Walter made it to 2011.
Somehow, I want to believe Walter and Ava are now dancing on the stairway to heaven.
By John Trusty for the acrostic, “stairway to the stars” contest.
This a true story about the second of many more times Walter danced with Ava Gardner at the “Hollywood Canteen.” Walter must have been one hell of a memorable dancer.

~Lost are our beautiful starlets in the early forties
In full garb, signs of their times, dancing tipping toe prancing their stance
Contrasting our times, no cleavage revealed , but legs were bare

To all my dearest friends " POETRY SOUP" I would love to wish you A MERRY MERRY CHRISTMAS...

I wish i could have parakeets
With beautiful voices
and I could leave my poems in its beak
then let him fly and soar high
exploring the fragrant sky
I wish
the soothing wind could blow the poems
and then unfurled
and attached them
on the floating clouds
I wish
The myriads of twinkling starlets
Could present and beautify the atmosphere
When the parkeets sang the poems
with its heart into the softest echoes
I wish
your heart could enjoy
the elegant poems
that sang my ballad just for you
and letting you generate
your glittering smiles

Career in crisis
Starlets arrested
Stupidity attracts
Media attention.
I used to read the news
And watch TV
Now I skim the ads
And close my eyes
Because I know
Everyone is someone else’s fool.
Iraq is burning
Politicians debate
Young solders die
And citizens go about
Their lives
Unconnected
Uninvolved
In a dead end war.
Medical care
Force the old
To choose between
Living or surviving
And the young
Struggle to save
As jobs fade overseas
If life and memory
Are the glue that holds us together
Then how did we ever forget
The lessons from past generations?

Dancing, whizzing, whirling,
Skaters swooping by;
Starlets busy twiriling,
Pointing to the sky.
Judges tracing outlines,
Fancy figure eights;
Hopefuls' unread headlines,
Sealed in starry fates.
Breathless finish flowing
From dazzling routine;
Nervous, never knowing,
Verdict yet unseen.

Last night my tortured mind did wander
Imagined all the Hollywood starlets
Wanted to squeeze me and cover me with kisses
My body was their ultimate target
Now I'm aware I have an amazing physique
Young girlies would really die for
But we all must conduct ourselves with order
There's enough of me to share and more
Long as my heart is able to hold out
My all night stands still apply
The stamina I possess is famous worldwide
Some would love to love like this guy
They're writing books bout my incredible stamina
How I'm able to go on for hours
It all comes down to an oversexed libido
That provides my extraordinary powers
Seriously thinking of loaning myself out
At five hundred bucks per session
Taking requests by email and by phone
But I must be in bed by eleven
I can't have any girlies under the blankets
Need my beauty sleep every night
Get ready for another day of teaching sex
But whoa, what a great life despite
