Stuttering Stammering Speech

Depression.
Can be flung away.
Can stick to any surface.
And me.
Depression.
Could be crammed in.
Stammering and tightening.
Tearing feelings.
Depression.
Can sit on the porch for weeks.
So you don’t leave for weeks.
The groceries dwindle.
Depression.
The gold metal I carry.
Gets rusty.
I can hear it.
Depression.
Could be crammed in any surface.
Rusty on the porch.
Sticking feelings.
Depression.
There are many ways.
The groceries dwindle.
No matter what.

the last tastes of summer slowly evaporate on my tender tongue.
no longer will fresh strawberries burst outside my cottage window,
nor will the smell of blooming lilacs fill my lungs.
as the first chills of changing seasons graze my skin,
gently rubbing my arms, i feel goosebumps forming from within.
the sunlight of hope gives way to the dusk of sorrow,
frost glistening as stardust reflects on autumn leaves.
a misty fog rolls in over the browning hills,
whilst isolation begins to take hold.
the distant birdsong of an owl echoes through the painful landscape.
staggering toward the unkempt window,
i shut the lightly dusted shutters,
so just for a brief moment in time, despondent worlds disappear.
behind a fabricated reality,
i can pretend with my indebted shadows.
stammering, i find the play button on my stereo;
goodbye to you rings in my mournful ears~
as the final warmth of yesterday shifts into the bitterness of perpetuity,
leaving my somber sky adorned with pixelated promises,
while this heart longs for an ethereal escape
from a raven-winged horizon,
cloaked in cracked amethysts and jinxed crystals.

There in the beauty of eclipsing eyes
Heavy with joy’s tears of sacrifice
Misery’s mahogany merrily replaced
By vindication violets blooming
Despite obvious peach pain
For each hand a silver nail
Each repent loosens
Each sin justifies jail and hammer
Stammering shame of humanity
All for vanity and “justice”
But joy comes in the morning
They strung him high
Whipped his hyde
Pierced his side
While the Father on high looked below
Skies once dark turned bright
Heavens opened up
Forgiven despite sins of the living
It was destined a blessing
From a cursed soul
Bold enough to trade
Silver gold for chosen one
Fulfilling the prophecy
Thorn crown parted hair
Of the Prince of Peace
Kingdom Come
Destined to lead

So many life struggles come our way
filled with tension and anxious thoughts
these thoughts are used to put us down
by the enemy of our souls, Satan's clot
Personally speaking life's full of tension
all my day's been stammering stuck
the tension produced in me so sore
bringing blocks in speech like an Arctic truck
Sometimes you've just got to hang in there
wait for deliverance to draw you out
the release button comes praying it on
no matter what inner thoughts are about
Tension can be a terrible thing
making your breath thin and narrow
anxiety seeks to keep you in its grip
tear it down shooting your arrow
In the long term, growth comes along
slowly but surely giving you faith
for God promises never to leave
despite your troubles, Jesus loves you He saith

Hammering heart
Where to start
Foggy brain
Feeling insane
Stammering words
No vocal cords
Trembling hands
Wish i had friends
Clammy feet
Trying to find a seat
Blushing face
This is no race
Survival at most
Not here to boast
With my eyes lifted above
I am saved by love

children chalk sidewalk bricks
in fresh colors of bravado, pinks, blues, reds
rhythmic brushing
mystic threads merging,
handled meticulously
child pedigree to erase the bland
on splashed bricks, laced up in color
hope that blooms out with jelly-roll laughter
in late summer ripeness
like pieces that fall in chess game slumber
outside my window
midst the stammering wrangle of life
children kneel
handle strokes of plump chaulk
like a wash of offerings
for a different world, coming
that lurks
in the rattling rain of October

Knumbed by her beauty
I stood in the fast beleif
she'd refuse my suggestion
of suppering in evening
she stood proud and
assured that I would
beg her whilst her friends
observed to sneer and smerk
I stood unattractive to either
but her gentle kindness
allowed me her person
when evening speaks
to the dawn
might the entanglements of
lovers speak to the night
might the crooning of songsters
croon
to make atmosphere for evening
her trusting me allowed me
to be me
unassured and stumbling
then welcomed by her kisses
our feats en lovemaking she
holds me
and makes me
her person
she makes me her lover
might the evening
speak to dawn
none shall know of our
nights together.
Admiration by morning
Inamorate from the night
than she spoke me
to be
to marry
to
marry.
We flew to Hawaii
I met her their
we shared a marvolos time
when we returned home
we married
a preachers stammering
tougne
spoke usas husband and wife.

Do speakers sound articulate,
For ideas they’d freshly conceived
From the faintest flash just received?
Does pumped blood not circulate fast,
The steadied nerves later not last?
Rather a weak insulation
Of a feared circumlocution,
Left ajar a stammering door
Begging for Great Orator’s jaw!
Its not helped by physical might
What is a psychology’s fight
Great panic and its twin stage fright
Before an audience, mind in flight
Sure it had met The Superior
That deserved nothing inferior…
So back you go to drawing board!
Weapon: psychological sword!

Back when
all that laid ahead
were the unheard
tales of time
tensely twirling
towards tomorrow.
Where our
hollow heedless
heads of hope
would wistfully
follow.
Still strumming
out their
stammering
starless streams
of desolate
undecided
dreams.
Then bashfully
burn out
into bittersweet
beams of
belittlement.

Free script channeling
Poets clamoring
Standing stuttered and stammering
Admitting in unpretentious ways
Defeat for who they are.
Language next to music,
Vision, next to speechless awe,
Poor cousin raged with
Country stench of un-refinement;
Living about them, clouds hung low
In the valley of their death.
Un-proud, Unproven, Untamed, Unopened
Cancelled before commitment could contain;
A wit from out depression,
Or speech that’s lost without a gain.
A candle’s death
By whispered breath proclaimed.

Thinking of years gone by of my mum
a real friend to me, a real support
always there in my stammering struggle
what would I have done without her comfort
Every Saturday morning we went to our town
on the bus together we spent quality time
the first stop was for tea and bacon roll
I had a hot orange drink as tea didn't rhyme
In those days the waitress was real smart
dressed in black with a white apron on front
this was a large department homeware store
with a tearoom at the top, a real long hunt
My mum on a Tuesday went to the coffee club
in Bank Street, took me when on my summer hols
she always had a lemon meringue pie
with her white coffee in a beautiful cup
These were lovely memories of my mum
she passed away suddenly of a heart attack
in 1981, so never saw me getting married
being adopted was I for she kept me on track
(Just thinking of my mum of those years ago and how a great friend and conmfort she was to me.)

He desired nothing but a tiny sliver of a hole
Where he could tuck himself up inside
Away from the others
Because he did not understand their need for attention
Their pursuits or their opinions.
He was a shy boy, who was used to apologizing since birth
First to his mother, who chastised him for causing her such pain
and disappointment, as she was a showing off gaudy gadabout sort.
Whereas, he was quiet, reticent, sedate, and shy.
He silently apologized to others who sought him out,
Which was not easy, for he usually was successful
Finding a corner, a hole, or a tree, away from the others.
Because he had no voice except a stammering one
That infuriated and caused embarrassment to his dear mother.

The globe doth spin, as we walk perpendicular.
I find, this fact, indeed this most peculiar.
Stammering, stuttering we yammer about fixing the earth!
Yet read the poetry, full of how, "it does not work".
Perhaps we should all look in the mirror and wonder why,
The universe outshines our peevish, constant complaints and cries.
How ungrateful many nations be, wanting to control our freedoms and chosen, individual destinies.
The genuine individual is insulted, scoffed at, or not recognized at all.
Just the sheep, who follow lead shepherds, get acknowledgement
at all.
