Buzz buzz go the jet ski's,
Chug chug go the glass bottomed boats,
The speedboats race leaving a long white flume,
The water bubbles from the pool aerator.
There's all of the beautiful people who stride around like posers,
There's the strange body shapes that just let it all hang out.
There's the floats and the balls,
There's the parents warning calls.
Children learn to swim from side to side,
You can see their parents so full of pride.
Ninety-four degrees today!

Come on. What kind of joke is this?
The Chiefs will be playing football in August weather.
Sweat running down their backs, wet hair, uncomfortable.
Slamming into each other and getting hurt, less fun.
Our climate is changing so rapidly.
Kansas can grow crepe myrtles now.
They are flourishing here.
Alligators and manatees will be next.
Swamps and waterways.
Speedboats and orange groves.
At least my house value will probably go up
Unless the alligators find the marsh next to us
Before the manatees do.
Flowers bloom to the fullest,
Garden of colours and aroma;
Fresh turf covering at full stretch,
A pleasant place for my mama.
A heart that lacks blooming, like mine,
Colours shall fade and perfumes evaporated;
Like dried and wasted grass, that’s how I feel,
Mama’s death came and it wasn’t anticipated.
Clear sky overpowered by the blazing sun,
No clouds to dampen the beautiful day;
A flock of birds happily racing each other,
Children enjoying a recreational play.
The blazing sun hurting my tired head,
Wishing for some rain clouds to appear;
Like the birds in a cage, I feel frustrated,
My recreational time fills me with dark fear.
The calming sea welcoming swimmers,
Speedboats abusing its power of speed;
Surfers annoyed at the lack of waves,
Topless sunbathers are carefree indeed.
In life, I swim in an ocean of sorrows,
Like boats in a storm I roll out of control;
Annoying is the lack of love in my heart,
A body without substance and without the soul.
