EXTREME HEAT

Extreme heat signifies an era
For the people who live in denial
That it is global warming
While the heat from hell solidifies
Itself throughout a variety of
States and countries
The heat creeps into our bodies
And brains creating a fog that 
Keeps us in a neutral zone, 
Wear our thoughts are unclear making us
Quick to anger and our patience short

Pendulums At My Feet

A conflagration rages within my being,
Looming over the tableau of woe at my feet.
Silken threads and ribbons tether their flight,
they opt for a divergent retreat from reality.

In a moment of frailty,
Taut sounds sway their desolation,
Erupt my apex, 
at least their visage will be frozen,
Statues of their inner torment.

My molten core whirls,
Glistening like quicksilver as my fury solidifies.
The mountain sentinel,
Surveying the forest of self annihilation.

Refrain from visiting or it may cost your life.

Jacobs Ladder

Star shoots at the mind
Hangs like earring in teared sky
Fissure on a hook

Shows fighting Spirit
Canvased vapor chandelier
Sighs expanse at hand

Liquid lightning pen
Diamond lined felt able craft
A brook of fable

Metamorphosis
Cocoon of endorphin sighing
Solidifies seal

Compassed Inn stable
Signature signed guiding light
Lines mine of wonder

You house the there there
Anteroom of the Angels
Loom of bright signals

Dragons breath agate
Stares staircase, Jacob's Ladder
Starry eyes agape

Frozen Tears

A world viewed through cold eyes creates
frozen tears & hardened emotions
Going through the motions only solidifies
the pain as salty feelings
cut like ice sickles impaling warm veins
These feelings bleed out into the 
streets of our minds that were constructed
upon old structures & paradigms in vain
At times I feign ignorance of these
false foundations because ignorance
is bliss
knowing burying my head in the 
sand could be hit or miss
No one is at home in this batters box
& it would be remiss of me to not
mention this paradox
The glass half empty view if full
of contradictions no one wants
to see through
& in a world viewed through cold eyes
tears are frozen before they've
had a chance to cry
Dry ice falls & shatters leaving
you to pick up the pieces
as if gathering your emotions
isn't hard enough in this season

Five Senses Plus One

>>>>>>>>>  Seeing a moment in life when time passed, I say
                           like a new pearl added too, upon a string of others,
                                transcends, crystalize into your present,

                             Touch someone with your words of wisdom, know
                               your remark transcends, becomes their own,
                                 solidifies into their circumstances,

                           Speak from your mind, that which came from your heart
                                  so too, truly touch one, an others soul,
                                        like a breath of fresh air,

                              Hear sounds of nature, whispering winds enchants,
                               like ancient mariners set a message in a bottle
                                 sent by sea, too anyone, for your well being,

                                Smell fragrant flowers that will come your way
                        some unexpected, your senses, six found, 'sense of direction',
                         will bring you joy, love, feeling of peace, on any given day

Lord, God, Please

God, please help cleanse my soul
To last while I grow old
I yearn deeply to feel whole
To serve your kingdom is the goal

Lord, please save my spirit
Please cleanse my conscience to hear it
Your presence, I can feel it
Growing from my bosom, it heals it

Lord, please heal my broken heart
And aid in warding Evil off the chart
Temptation creeps in when life gets hard
But struggle solidifies Your guidance to hearken

You raise me up
During ups and when it gets rough
You elevate my spirit to ascend up
My hunger for Divine Wisdom is not enough

In my soul, lingers an ache
Stemming a pain I can't wake
When will it break?
I pray the Lord my troubles to take

Amen.

He Gave Me Only a Candle

Just before he lost his thoughts and memories,
Before he closed his eyes and doors to sleep,
Before he listened to his heart stop,
Before he breathed his last;
He handed to me a candle,
And got a matchstick to light it.
His words were commands;
He told me never to let it be blown out,
Neither by the winds nor the waters;
And he bid me farewell.

He told me not when he would be back,
And I kept asking myself,
Wouldn't the lights go off?
Wouldn't the candle melt to death?
Would I hold it forever?
It was a commitment to the one gone,
And a rule to maintain.
The best legacy he left to me,
Became my inheritance,
It were the words of wisdom of a dying man,
That shone in the light spread by the candle!
But now that he's gone,
Will I light a lamp or a bulb instead?
I'll stick to the old candle,
For as it melts,it solidifies in my heart,
And the promise remains valid,
That I shall not let it go down.

I remember you uncle Jimmy,
I celebrate you my dear,
You were a father and a mentor,
And the light you left me to hold,
I shall,
Not with the hands,but the heart;
That you may happily rest in peace.

The Playing Card

i am the jack of all traits
which means i can be everything i hate
my thoughts buzz still like flies on the wall
yet he still catches me when i fall

can i ever be truly well rounded? when will i start to shave down?
watch me be a performer, my mask solidifies into a frown
i feel so special in my dressing gown
perfect appearance to let my thoughts drown

who am i to be mad just because dad gave up when he was sad? 
nobody here chooses who gets to be glad
i can keep a steady pace in mind 
yet when i go to sleep my teeth still grind

i’ll give myself a gold star in the middle of my face
watch darting eyes be amazed with grace
the jester once a servant makes you laugh
my body boils in the bath

i’m the jack of all traits
i am not what i hate
my brain uses what drives me crazy as bait
the minds eye sees every side and it’s debates

Ubiquitous Blue

Blue's a pigment unlike any other
that spills from the heavens and inks the skies.
And it engulfs the Earth yet doesn't smother,
though it's everywhere, even in one's eyes.

It sparkles in lakes and gleams off rivers,
inking the waters of oceans and seas.
And ice-cold, it can give one the shivers
as it solidifies, when waters freeze.

It's often refracted in a jewel,
both sapphires and diamonds, value this shade.
And saturating every pond and pool,
it's part of every rainbow ever made.

There's something to be said about a hue,
as precious, yet ubiquitous, as blue.

As I Slumber

my dendrite highway glides into spiritual realms
unbidden, unhurried, unsanctified by conscious me
meditative unawareness solidifies into dreams of the dead
bioluminescent shapes and songs form enticing my psyche
I slumber blissfully unaware and yet here is piece of me
The piece I am not in touch with during the daylight hours,
constructing, creating, and misconstruing my next day

Solo Non-Stop

The shuddering waves hasten the night
the fullness of the moon hides behind copious clouds,
soon a roar becomes overwhelming amidst the storm
as the lashing rain solidifies upon the creaking bow.

freezing salty air
the siren of the whale’s call
enhance his struggles

It was then, as if a giant hand sweeps away the tempest
when tossed with in its heart, the tigerish rouge is subdued,
the lone sailor cries out in prayer as his trembling fingers
wipe away the remnants from his Bohemian brow.

paper thin egg shell
stained ribbons of wooded ply
wax candle aglow

His prayer was answered suddenly the clouds part
and the prominence of starlight shine through,
with his compass lost and guiding system kaput
he plots his way; sails the furrows of the celestial plough.

tears of gratitude
aid the swelling ocean waves
red sky a warning

Imaginary Conversation With Covid-19

Covid-19, do you run
on some evil foot 
out of sight,
beneath the light
till your Napoleonic march
brings you to rout?

Or out of habit
Do you lust for old flesh
due to a generation gap?

Alien footsteps on our life intrudes
I hear cacophony of voices
counsel you to retreat

If you like our fireside
then consider the option
of a cease-fire.

In our sun-touched garden
your breeze of death
solidifies our pillars
of faith.

Across the wide swath
mother earth's bleeding
deploring your running stream.

Radiant glows our faith
against your lava
pouring in the hillside.

Fabled ways of flames and fire
we're more used to than
your cold killer façade.

Your rapid-fire genocide
is candidate for a new
Nuremberg trial.

Sitting In the Sun

I awaken to sunbeams 
pushing back the night; 
the day solidifies 
before my eyes, 
ignoring the ticking clock 

ghosts squeak their disapproval 
in faded floorboards, 
paintings sharpen, 
and graceful cats 
pace in the hallway 

stained glass accepts the light, 
and colors crawl along the wall; 
we all shine, 
perhaps reluctantly, 
sitting in the sun

An elevator of vigor
Makes you reach the top; 
Taking you to the highest level, 
As the cream of the crop.

An elevator of fervor
Fills your mind with energy; 
With intensified enthusiasm, 
You fulfill your divine duty.

An elevator of ardor
Solidifies your true faith; 
Making your love grow, 
While you fervently wait.

An elevator of hope
Helps you stay so strong; 
Neither will you lose ground, 
Nor will you ever go wrong.
