Softening Poems

Premium MemberSoftening Attention

Looking back at life lived so far,
we fear we have drifted afar.
Boon now bane, gift of thought, a curse;
heed musings of the universe!

That that comes and goes, unreal,
so invoke bliss that holds appeal.
Resting then narrow thought forms terse,
heed musings of the universe!

Silence enables touch divine,
if we choose with love to align.
Without any need to rehearse,
heed musings of the universe!

We can always remain joyful,
feeling vibrant, blissful and full.
As turbid earth life we traverse,
heed musings of the universe!

a little bit of this
and a little bit of that
mix it but don’t jinx it
buzzing about like a gnat

We look to scriptures to quieten mind,
as affirmations are comforting,
until we get to cessation,
relinquishing lower mind.
What remains is presence,
unfettered, unbound,
one with the flow,
stillness slow,
quiet
now
~
thus
gently
here and now
alive, aglow,
with no agenda,
save to savour flavour
of the flow of life throbbing
as we watch it’s pulse rise and fall;
a dance beauteous beyond measure,
spectacle of delight for each earth soul.

Softening Gelatin and Rolling Whales

The air is still;
No sound is heard save
	The pecking of the feathered.
The atmosphere so thick as softening gelatin;
The air is still, still, chill.

Calm, a state delicious to ordinarily seek
Now filled with apprehension.
Faith cries “Do Not Be Afraid!”
One human experience cries fear, fear!

It is the still after and before the storm.

Rolling clouds like rolling whales form westward,
To rush and wash like a world war army brigade.
Bugs dig in their burrows;
Pets pace, crouch silently, staring.

It is the still after and before the storm.

Chain saws tirelessly sawing
The demise of history’s old trees.
It is the Ides of March, and
The skies repeat their seasonal wrath.

It is the still after and before the storm.

Softening

In times likes these when
even my own heart stands still
and tells nothing; it

likewise refuses
to beat the rhythm of life
I need to see your

voice, to touch your
words, to find my solace in
the warmth of your scentful skin.

Premium MemberSoftening Emotion

walking on eggshells
floating in the stream
whispering babbles
caressing
upon earth

faraway eyes
in the mist
sparkles beautiful
heart and soul
flowing to
inner depths

reflecting
in the deepest beauty
silent words
so loving
within

as the emerald ocean swells
mirror upon one's heart
greeting the stream
flowing so amazingly
rising in waves
fall outwards
to you

an amazing woman
opening the envelope
a treasure
within
the chest

a pirates bounty
the king's ransom
lighting up
smiling
it;s you

Premium MemberSoftening the Haze

To watch the early nightfall peep, as I
Relish the scent of air passing nearby,
While verdant grassland breathes of newborn hay
Unwinding the busy haze of Friday;
The ripple of homespun hours wafts and then
A dappled sky folds plates undone,
Till softened kisses moist a wheezing breeze
Jealous the stars eavesdrop, of love’s caprice
On resting arms, like trellis in a shade
Blue robins tweet and daffodils parade,
As warm caresses glaze lamplights, wherein
Solace from our dreamy eyes lulls Friday’s spin.
