snakes love sleeping bags
cuddling next to warm bodies
I like hotel rooms

Seven silver snakes
suddenly slither southward 
seeking summer sun.

slinking silently
slithering in the shadows
serpent's vicious spite

look to the ladder
looming long in languid lines
life’s lofty ascent

Red, the hot hedgehog baked strawberry short cakes
They were delicious, magnificent, she fed them to her snakes
Better than her chocolate sundaes, or her blueberry shakes.
Best recipe she has, said those satisfied snakes.

Swans and Snakes

A million dollars will shut a thousand mouths
forever seal black books 
seed a million clouds
place bodies in swamps
and swaying from meat hooks
and far- far underground. 
A billion dollars can by a million souls
denature the fabric of the globe
chase hope and faith down the rabbit hole.
A billion dollars will promptly end investigation
turn the lake of truth

Baby Garter Snakes are Like Puppies

Baby garter snakes are like puppies in a way
They pile themselves together on a cold windy day
I don’t know about you, but a snake pile might scare me.
Whereas a puppy pile would look as cozy and welcoming as could be.

Breathless chase after shadows

As the dark veil covered the sky,
I was left with no choice but to resign to fate.
The enemy was relentless in their pursuit—
My platoon scattered after the strike on Khartoum.
Only two bullets remain~
One to kill another,
The other for myself.

I was lucky to find an abandoned trench—
wide enough to let my eyes rest.
Too fatigued to resist

The Snakes in a field of Green

I inhale deeply, take the first step with desire in my soul to grow
to be the seed replanted in the soil to receive Vitamin D from Father Sun

I wanna be free, but I know I cannot fear living
just because I breathe out my nostrils and out my mouth.

Whether laddie, lass or old codger geriatric
A bold gent with such clout
All Eire’s snakes he shooed out

The Fable Of Two Snakes In The Grass

They were two snakes in the grass buried in the pit of life
now bemoaning their past with hisses, coils and strikes
she constricts he restricts
venom spewing out
she thwarts his advances and he thwarts hers
stubbornness seeding in the pot of mystery
in the rock bottom garden of life
... yet there they were 
continuously watching

Snakes That Befriend and Kill

death came from rattle snakes
build a fort just to dig his grave
air became thinner inside
with every single inhale
mesmerised by the good feeling 
his obscured vision of love
couldn't differ between words or places
memories that still haunt him at dawn

one common bite and 100 different faces
excruciating pain and smile on their faces
black dahlia flourished in my rose

Scare the snakes out

All rabbits chased out of their holes,
Snakes now make their burrows their own:
Their venom, their flight it controls.
All rabbits chased out of their holes.
How to scare out the snakes, their goals?
The snakes not worried, as they moan.

With scary bodies
Snakes cause self inflicted harm;
many are harmless.

clever snakes

Snakes are clever, staying out of humans’ way
Preferring to be up at night, sleeping away during the day
I look for them in the morning, but never see them at all
At midnight, however, one is climbing my lattice work, nine foot tall.
