"Goldfish"

The left said we weren’t right
we were catscradles
lost and over-stitched in it all

The right said we were goldfish
in an over-crowded drowning bowl
fed on pronouns and dreams of an equal world

poetry skewered our lives
with the beauty of it all
but we were oblivious

to what was really
calling

Premium MemberIn the Mouth of Desire

in the mouth of desire, inverted spires
lean toward the grots of Hell.
tongues forked, skewered with sapphires
in the mouth of desire, inverted spires.
Adam's apple burning cores, as moths for martyrdom's fires.
on the path to perdition: many had attended well.
in the mouth of desire, manipulation stirs.
the crone fanning her cauldron
a hot vat of ruin, Wiccan shrieks and whirs.
in the mouth of desire, manipulation stirs -
a warlock's cherished heart of burrs,
tears of crocodiles, his every gentleness abandoned.
in the mouth of desire, sirens sweet, curses
lure purple wearers and weavers, beasts with saints,
low_down to the broad gates, gilt black, swinging purses.
in the mouth of desire, sirens' sweet curses
but wisdom's rare jewels, bereft in their verses.
for want of wisdom, man's sovereign will faints.

Attempt, attempt, attempt, I try, I do,
but find success a frightful, fretful sort
of creature.—.landing always just so short
for you,—my victories?: far less than few.

From void to verse then verse now void,—but you
reject my voice,else’y*u[ / , u ]d*stort
it, and to good will ill intent impart;
My inspiration, skewered by your view,

lies fallow in your lap.—Tell, what’s the use
of baring open heart and mind and soul
when evil’s understood the sole (and whole)
ground of my poetry? — — rather a noose
than these restraints!, ach! and the love you reek
of, it struggles with my fine nose. I speak.

Premium MemberReverse Cyrano

“Reverse Cyrano”

Reverse Cyrano
new wave poetry
straddles the ruins

milked
with two sugars
dark Tea dreams

red leaves laquer
the vain roadmaps
that stain the ingrained

with pommegranate poetry
the bejewelled heart
sweet and tart

and thick
skinned
sliced and skewered

each granate
a sparkling
hidden gem

within the ruby
words written
riding astride those worlds

like wolves
in those comforting
dicomforting whispering woods

for Cyrano reversed
so easily contracted
a hidden god and a poet

that lost lovers
may find submerged
in disoriented time adrift,

eyes open-wide undestracted,

the ravenous misunderstood unmissed.

Premium MemberHow Naive Can JD Be

JD Vance will certainly get skewered
For he came off as naïve, untutored

          Boosted the military
          Promoted prosperity

Such naivete can get him murdered

The Penny Has Dropped

What if
the penny has dropped
but I neither saw nor heard it
so for me
to all intents and purposes
the penny has not yet dropped
and never will
not knowing this
I wait in vain
and wonder why
the fates
the gods
serendipity
are ignoring me
did I do something wrong
am I not worthy
so I take on board
this skewered reality
this misconception
and live my life accordingly
waiting
forever waiting
for that which has already occurred.

I An Idea Crucified In the Eye of the Storm

They insist on it, what is natural can be supernatural. Vice admiral eat from my
garden for I am quite admirable for your beneficient militia that is multi-national against the hexagonal eldritch terrorists if not have had an assist we would be wet behind the ears. Protect us from the unorthodox fears that have us bleeding wine from our ribs cut and skewered by spears. There wailing bewildered angry screams making us bleed tears.

Earthquake In a Tea Cup

"Earthquake in a Tea Cup"

the earthquake
rocked through
a pink haze
soft and powdered
scent of lit smoke
flaming fires
hot oven baked
green apples
ripe skin sizzled
and popped
ice cool cinnamon crisp
lemon peeled martinis
black russians and they're
ripped unfriendly cousins
Long Island Iced teas and
Asian Pear Chit-Cha toddies
osmanthus oolong trading
asset smiles flying under
the Roger Ramjet radar
exploded rapturously
candied petals floating
hearts marachinoed
stevia sweetened cherries
skewered and buttered up
mercilessly on the q.t.
roses burnt apricots
she arrived shimmering
in the clouds
a seduction
ruffling feathers
in their
crème de la crème
tea cups shaking
their quiet worlds up
dominoes lined straight laced,
drugged and shot
they all thought
it was the second
coming

the world
was her stage

the fall out
was atomic

their shadows
scattered

nuclear imprints

incalculable,
the numbers

An Appetizer

The food was chased by a bent tine fork
Along the surface of a smooth glass plate,
Eventually was skewered with brute force torque.

A similar force confronted an unyielding cork
But for this event, on this mechanical date,
The food was chased by the bent tine fork.

A stab of grace presented the French basted pork
And lingered face front like scavenger bait,
Eventually was skewered with brute force torque.

Such moaning and discontent, could it have been more late
From a Five Star Diner in the village of York?
The food was chased by a bent tine fork.

It was not prepared by a chef but by a dork
More worthy of satiric praise than glowing hate,
Eventually was skewered with brute force torque.

The Maitre d’Hotel offered his black plastic spork
Immensely gracious but too late.
The food was chased by a bent tine fork,
Eventually was skewered with brute force torque.

(aka… A Note To A Cheat)

The birds and the bees are down on their knees
The bunnies and kittens are riddled with fleas
The chocolates are melted the flowers are dead
And Cupid’s gold arrow turned out to be lead

Although you once rendered me all of a flutter
You’ve skewered my soul like a hot knife through butter
So, where do you go to get cozy and tender
While I lay alone with my heart in a blender

I long since discarded my rose-tinted specs
So don’t tell me that it’s not love, only sex
Did we not each promise till death us do part
Is that why you hammered a stake through my heart

Well, not anymore: keep your hearts and your flowers
I’ll fret nevermore when you’re missing for hours
To love and to cherish, remember that lie?
Be sure to remember this truth, “Goodbye.”

                         *

P.S… I’m reclaiming my pride that you took
For you never took… my little black book

Premium MemberBroken Hearted Fools

And what of these, these broken-hearted fools,
who lust within the silence of disdain
play in a lover’s game that has no rules
no potion to relieve them of their pain.

Skewered by the sword of passion’s lie
lashed by lingering memory of lust
condemned to live each moment with a sigh
while harboring the seed of love’s distrust.

They persevere and muddle through the maze
of who it was that let it go so wrong
realize that it may have been a faze
a lingering phrase from an old hit song.

They fail to win love’s true treasured jewels
and what of these, these broken-hearted fools.

Sabine

A subpoena
I send to you Sabine
To the Court of Birds
that see no frowns of malice
nor recognise the curl of the lip
The defence that must fall
from your patched Tongue
skewered and faltering
will no doubt wilt
in the Misery of that injustice
where you glance and
Judgment be made

Cursed is your nature
Your drowsy lids poisoning
the Strangers that grace lowly beings
Your kohl sinks your eyes
into the putrid swamps
that belongs your soul
The oceanic conch rolls
removed of its Creature
in sandy depths
An empty vessel
hollow of mind
wanting of Master
gasping, grasping for silvery clay
the Agar.
devoid of Conscience, removed of mine

Recurrent Sneezing Fit By Ma Chew Too

This thick mucous essentially
the defense mechanism of a healthy
body electric to restore biz zee nose
as usual, which for this mild mannered
liberal leitmotif from the chronicle of one
matted nattering nabob of nativity attests
congested mob functioning like
a well lubricated machine, yet
for the life of me, nary a handy dandy
blues clues evident as per, how
the human entity empowered
to steamroll over
any reasonably annoying bugaboo.

Ah, now if only a similar innate
defense mechanism arose
within the mental health,
that would be a supreme testament
to thine atheistic tasty mints of miracles
minus the attendant pharmacopeia
of this, that or some other drug to aright
skewered psyche (of this contemplative,
emotive and intuitive literate outlier),
whose sixty two plus eight shades
of gray matter went awry and skewed
toward tipping point (to cope with ordinary
cares and concerns of an uncertain
whirled wide web) found the bulk
of his life riddled with a joe king,
gun slinging tub back ha chew win,
bard **** wordsmith,
who doth newt like to utter any
cryptographic crossword.
