Sisters

My best friend
And worst enemy
Just leave me alone
Always there for me
I steal her clothes
We share everything
She buys me things
That she needs

Envious again
Competing beauty
They say we look like twins
She's prettier than me

Too long without a visit
Moved in right next door
Came 800 miles
Just To be ignored

Her option of me
Matters more than most
Too my face, critical
Behind my back, boasts

Support and edify
Build up and inspire
Ensuring she understands
Her help is not required

Curse when near
Cry when away
The only one to trust
To keeps secrets safe

But I'm the only one
Allowed to criticize
Don't mess with my sister
Don't even try

Premium MemberLet Me Go

I hugged her lightly.
Never having a sister before,
I was scared I’d break her.
Turtle, the best name I decided.
A shelter from harm always near her.

She grew to be my best friend,
with whom I could share my secrets.
I had to leave her one day.
My heart was tested and failed.
She was not ready.

I hear her grief on haunted nights.
I am unable to embrace her.
Comfort is not in my arms,
but in those with whom I left her.
She rejects them.

She remains alone by choice,
or perhaps by selfish sorrow.
Unflappable, I always said,
nothing to hold her from success.
She has unshakable pain.

I trust tomorrow brings her love,
a confidence to be who she is,
compassionate and forgiving.
Sister dear, let me go!
I trust that she hears me.

Premium MemberWhy is she so Annoying

Don’t sing so loudly! Jimmy told his little sister.
Don’t tell me what to do! She said, sassing him a bit.
She always wanted attention, it was what she did.
Her voice was loud and proud, higher than his too.

Why is she so annoying? He asked his mother.
His mother said, “Someday she will be your best friend.”
He did not believe her, but guess what?
Their mother left the earth, and they became best friends.

Singing as loudly and proudly as they wanted.
She was still louder than Jimmy
But he was proud of her now
And loved her loudness!

Premium MemberLove Does Not Discuss Sins

Love does not discuss sins
Mistakes are facts of life
No one is infallible
When a brother makes a mistake
Be careful not to respond
With another mistake
Forgive cause you need
To to be forgiven
No perfect beings exist on the planet
We do not rejoice when a brother falls
We rather run to restore him
Victims as well as perpetrators
Stand in helpless need of His forgiveness

Premium MemberIt Feels Like Love

I have a best friend
A look alike
An admirer
She has my face
Her freckles, her laugh, her mannerisms are also mine.
People asked me what having an identical twin feels like.
It feels like love, I say.

Tomorrow it is the first in December
And I'll open my first window in the Christmas calendar

My sister Tone, must extract two teeth at the dentist
... and give us a toothless smile ~ without breakfast

Premium MemberThe Sister Within Me

All the magic a sister brings
glorious times, echoed cries
beauty that shines through sunlike eyes
mirrored images of loves union
shared dreams, whispered nights
stories shared upon listening ears
memories brought with each new year
battles fought, lost and won
the seal of a wonderful sisterly bond
father's vision, mother's mission
God's humble servant always giving
I hear the spoken words of a sister
prayers from the heart
that forever glistens
through good times and bad times
past times and present times
the family we love
prayers we've shared
cherished are the memories
of the sister within me.

Premium MemberSister Bertrille

Sister Bertrille is in the Convent of San Tanco. It’s located just outside of San Juan, Puerto Rico. I must tell you she’s not a typical nun. Get to know her, and she can be a lot of fun. God must have sent her to this place in the sun. Believe it or not, she has the power to fly. When the wind catches her coronet, she goes up in the sky. Entrepreneur Carlos Ramirez is her best friend. How could a delightful television show come to an end? Based on the sixties sitcom “The Flying Nun”
