‘Specially the lost souls seekin’ our music as a cure fur somethin’
they don’t know sickens them
weave our magic, notes a tapestry of pain and triumph
each song a story told
In this dim-lit haven where the pain belongs
guitar strings weep, and the piano keys moan
Their troubles forgotten in the whiskey's sweet sin
the moon hangs low, casting shadows on the walls
and I blow my harp, conjuring tales of love and falls
I've seen heartache and joy, etched in every face
from the broken-hearted lover to the lost in grace

Do you know the love of Jesus
And the comfort of his care
And the sweetness of his presence
Just to know that he is there?
Troubles try and sadness sickens
Worries multiply and vex
But remember Jesus promised
I will never you forsake.
Mountains great may be still greater
Problems ever complicate
But be sure if you love Jesus
You are never left to fate.
When he died for helpless sinners
All sin’s consequences bore
He became our perfect refuge
Peace and rest for evermore.
Pain-free life he never promised
Never said you’d live at ease
But his love and care make troubles
Stepping-stones to find his peace.
Why not trust this loving Jesus
Give yourself to his true care
All your worries give him fully
All your troubles let him bear?
He is able, he is able,
He is mighty, he is true,
He is loving, kind and gentle
He has given himself for you.

“It’s not a matter of if, but when.”
Dr. Lawrence Hayes in Brad Peyton's movie: San Andreas
San Andreas' carnage sickens
the plot thickens
to higher stakes
than mere earthquakes
relationships split wide-open
wondering when
knowing the past
the end forecast
disease, divorce, death, denial
earth's life trials
how can one cope?
God’s grace brings hope

dont leave me here
i can't be alone
the voices overwhelm me
the lights blind me
the stench sickens me
the thoughts scream to me
with you its not so scary
you hold and comfort me
with you i can fight the darkness of my brain
protect me
once more?
before im all gone

A man of 82 attacked,
A hammer to his head,
Is lucky, thanks to 911,
He didn’t end up dead.
Misinformation made the rounds,
A pack of nasty lies
Regarding Paul Pelosi,
But that’s sadly no surprise
For there are no boundaries anymore.
Whatever rage is felt
Will circulate, despite the fact
It hits below the belt.
So jokes and rumors sprout and spread
While in intensive care,
The Speaker’s husband lies in bed,
As we become aware
That this is now our country’s norm.
It sickens me to know
Our standards, once so lofty,
Have dropped down so very low.

Serenading you with my sincerity
assembling praises in your name
your one glance falls in place
a thousand emotions it resurrects.
Dawn is the new dusk
you pretend and wave it off
but the beauty in it
like an elephant without a tusk.
I wander to find peace
to render apologies apiece
my state of mind eloquent of a mirage
and I stay true to this farce
reality sickens me to the core
bringing redundant conversations to the fore.
Dredging up new barriers
setting up new boundaries.
Parsing life stuck at this juncture
now I run slower
and a lot less hunger
our differences like embers
time smouldered them
now settled beneath the ashes forever
still flickering by power of faith
memories waiting for someone to remember.

Words fail me
illogic sickens our world
as we’re caught in the
dystopic distemper
of our times.
The ice cube’s melting
the waters rising,
yet our house burning
as this ill wind blows
nobody no good
and that puff of LA breeze
only spreads the stench
of viral victims.
Our future discounted
by doubting Thomas deniers
prophets of false truths
doubling down on
discounted discredited lies
whilst the cryptocurrency
of insurrection warps
once patriotic minds.
Words fail me.

Anything could be,but love
nonetheless,game of chance
win we live,die we loss
destiny no where,but luck
journey sickens and tiredness rewards
mere a hope and succession of trials
Dream after dream we enjoy
the beginnings, new beginnings and the more beginnings
Thanks to the forgetfulness
we are saved of grief
Love the dance in pain, but blessing
the soul enjoys whirling, new whirling and the more whirling
Blessed for the delusion of eyes
the giant stars appears tiny
heart needs conclusion,but ecstasy
the rain, new rain and the more rain

It doesn't get you a leg up to hate the other person
Like a needle, hate pierces through your heart
Like a plague, it sickens your mind
Until you're only possessed by vengeance
Unless you opt for clemency
Hate will drive you in the midst of an erupting volcano
And will tear your heart apart into jagged bits

If you wanted my beating heart
You should’ve treated it right from the start
Yet you set me on fire
cause you hate yourself
Watched my burning pyre
As you berate yourself
Now my carcass smolders
In the ashes of
What sickens me to call our love
It gives me glee to see
It blow away in the wind
As if it was never there to begin
And at last I am free again

My
will to
survive may
be decreasing
as I get older.
Failed attempts to cure what
my own doctor did to me
has brought me disillusionment.
Seeing how world leaders have brought us
to the brink of destruction sickens me.
Despite all the bad, however, there is
still so much good that I imagine
even lying in agony
with heaven within my reach -
I would probably be
fighting even then
with all my might
for my last
little
breath.

When your roots are uprooted
And your rose is dethorned
And your seed is aborted
Before it's been born
Don't is just kill you
For a while it was good
When you thought that just maybe
You were out
You were out
You were out of the woods
The saplings in darkness
Wave on morning's thrushes
They know their sap sickens
When eternity hushes
Don't it just kill you
I thought for one moment
The system was calm
No nomenclature
Could make up for the bomb
But sometime past midnight
The sky opened up
The angels lay dripping
Their perfect eyes shut
Don't is just kill you
For a while it was good
When you thought that just maybe
You were out
You were out
You were out of the woods

I can't live without this
I have found life in death
Healing through sickness
Creation through destruction
Light in darkness
I can't live without this
That which holds me down gives me flight
That which enslaves me, frees me
That which sickens me, heals me
I've found purity in filth
and Filth in purity
Nothing held sacred is sacred
Sickness overcomes me
It lets me soar
