The truck ride becomes longer
Each time we go on a trip
Something has happened to a strip
Wind wheezes through each minute stronger

Grook
The susurrus breeze
of spring’s ingénue trees
now rasps and wheezes,
rustling sparse leaves as
the trees, now crones,
rest brittle bones,
primed for winter’s coming.

Rhyme
He dreams in electric themes
draping around the armchairs
he wheezes down time
Across feral fields his eyes skims
the scenery
His shadow silhouetted by the evening sun
aware of the amolaly
recalling a spectral youth

Sunbeams in mounting streams bound over frozen seams
Picturesque azure canvas doth glazed eyes enrapture
Rhythmic breezes through sprouting timber wheezes
Iridescent glow on curdling brooks doth blissfully row
Nestling birds sing with frivolity of each, mating fling
Green carpet of svelte threads across meadow spreads

Enclosed Rhyme
A body housing three diseases
With three more as the visiting ones:
Enjoy he does just brief releases,
On some days obliged to laugh but once...
A rough fate acting as it pleases;
Each time he dumped his drugs worse than dunce
Cimetidine that Ulcer eases
Or else a body hit on each ounce
Inhaler against the longest wheezes;
No Ciproxin, Salmonella pounce...

Rhyme
Just wave goodbye again
and wheeze as you dance away
in your bed head silly.
And I’ll wait here on the corner
in Pjs and your corduroy shirt
shamelessly improper in rush hour traffic.
And
it came to me today
in the bare soles of my feet
that no matter how many dreams I
filled with tulips and tears,
wheezes and corduroy was the
only promise you ever made to me.

Free verse
Her hunched mound circles around
while near dawning approaches...
and my mind wonders of her need
to spin more rows in puffs
of hours, sewing and binding
a delicate blanket made from loops.
Somehow, I know what makes
her hurry... as time wheezes,
silken mother props her bed
upon new day's request
when egg sacs, her young, peep out
toward a gently crocheted, wet earth.

LITANIES REHEARSING ADIEU
Soft
wheezes
from
crossbills
and mistrel
fusion
pluck
refrains
from May blooms,
train litanies
rehearsing
adieu
pause
unto
biting cold
out stretched
wings
to soar
high!
