Video

once I made a video
I'm dancing to a tune
I can keep dancing by myself
or I can dance with you

once I wrote a love song
from feelings that you knew
I can sing it to myself
or I can sing it to you

Premium Member We All Have Devices

We all have devices the eight-year-old happily said.
My whole family plays them through supper until time for bed.
Video games? Sure! I play Farmer Fruity Furlough Fred.
No communication with my family and no books are read.

Video Games

Slow steady breaths
Quick flicks of the hand
The grip of a controller in your hand
The feeling of the headset resting upon you
The sounds
The lights
The action
Oh the games you can play
Oh the people you can meet
Oh what a game can be!

Premium Member I Am a Super Sleuth At Night

TV people take up oodles of my time.
They turn me into a police officer,
A detective,
And a forensic genius.
I solve murders, and mysteries
And save gobs of people every night,
Luckily I can do it from my recliner
With my dog snoring away next to me

Video Game Reality

we sat on the couch
in front of the t.v.
both of us
were plugged in

we hit the power
and started
the game

we played for
hours upon hours
into the night
until finally

she fell forward
onto her lap

unsure of what
to do to help
i just left

Premium Member Like Ammil

Movie clips of coloured cocktail sips— voices of children in pool recoil. The ancient family feuds in which to embroil. My reality becomes an unwelcome foil. A silk dress with a white lacy frill—- my reflection now still like ammil.

Video Games and Hallucinations

After grueling sessions of

Guitar Hero 3,

I would often look to the mirror

to my right

and marvel at how

my vision was affected by the game,

with the mirror becoming twisted

and augmented,

slithering across the wall in my living room.

Craziest thing I've ever done
Making a video just for fun.

Usually all you see is ink
And mull around my words, I think.

Now, I have this video.
So, listen and watch.

Then say, so, or, oh!
It was a lot of fun (work) though!

Video Games

When one begins
and picks up the controller
he hopes he wins
but most become bipolar.

they think they are the best
they hope and pray,
that they are better then the rest
but most are in disarray.

they continue for hours
doing nothing but staring
but what it does is devours
while they sit there swearing.

Premium Member Communication As We Know It

We are all in the living room.
Bing. Ping. Zing. Bing!
Squeal of delight.
No one looks up.
No one speaks.

There are screens in everyone’s hands
Except Dad’s.
He is watching the big screen on the wall.
We hear it, but not really.

Some of us take our screens to bed.
Bing. Ping. Zing. Bing!
No one has spoken for years.

Video Visit

For my video visit by phone
Where my doctor’s and my face were shown
All my questions got asked
And we both sat, unmasked,
In the comfort of places well-known.

We discussed medications and such
Without blood work (of course, there’s no touch)
But my face on the screen
(Ugh! You know what I mean)
Was the part that I hated so much!

Video Game

I can look everywhere.

I have video game hands.

My face doesn’t exist.

I don’t need anything else…

Except hands.

For grasping.

There are no mirrors in here.

There are no mirrors in this world.

I’d rather just be hands.

Not a face.

It always starts the same.

With three chances.

With three choices.

I try my best every time.

Video

I saw
a women
in a
video.
She was
old
walking slowly.
The Video
was seventy
years old.
It was made
in Berlin
after the war.
Smashed buildings
everywhere,
smashed
lives too.
Where she
was headed,
I had no
idea.
But that
moment
for her,
was just
as focused
as this
moment for
me
as I’m typing
these
words.
How fleeting
it all be.

Rip Video Star

Radio murdered the live musician.
It had no regrets,
this was the intention.

Video killed the radio star.
Beauty became the focus,
more important than playing a guitar.

The internet shot music videos down.
Took a whole network with it,
no one needs their MTV now.

Who will massacre the internet?
The verdicts still out,
I'm not ready to place my bet.

The Missing Video

The missing video

I saw them dance on the other side of the river
I saw a burning sky turning dark as a black dot on the TV screen
I heard the thunder of collapsing buildings
I saw the rain of bodies splashing on asphalt screams of the doomed
I saw this on the TV, screen and now it has disappeared.
I saw laughing people on the other side of the river dancing.

Year Change

Why do I feel that something so bad has happened?
That is because it has happened
The virus ravaging the world
Just like the old films I saw as a kid
Jubilee Videos has the best films
My mum got them for me
Not one was happy or love story
All were war horror death or sex
As Frankie said Relax and Two Tribes
Ultimate sex or total ing war
Nothing but the year has changed

Premium Member Video Kitties

Video kitties are all the rage
Kittens tinkling the ivories
  on a hand-held stage

I glance at the screen
can't believe what I see
Cutest kitten ever
  decorating a X-mas tree

I know that kittens favor
  brains over brawn
But have you ever viewed
  fifteen kitties yawn?

Three more lines, and this'd be a sonnet ~
So, I'll 'bow-wowt' early, with a kitty in a bonnet
