Notes About The Poem

This work harks back to the days when video calls were conducted in an internet cafe

Face To Face (First Ever Video Call)

Post email setup’s “gold medal” triumph, face to face on screen,
with sister Jay who sagely warned against overt optimism,
Yet within space of five minutes, we chin wagged without a glitch

Hey Howard, it has such wonderful archival charm and historical triumph. You’ve captured a specific, almost mythical epoch in modern human communication, the internet café era, and that threshold moment when digital distance was suddenly, visually collapsed into three vivid lines. Where has the time gone? Delightful and deeply relatable work, Howard. Blessings, Daniel
