Othello was playing the Cello
That may come as a surprise
He was sad and mellow about the deaths and lies
He played very softly
Then stabbed himself and died...

Angel's Wings
Angel’s wings beat very softly.
Most people, in fact, do not hear them at all,
When danger comes or sorrows arise in life.

If you listen closely, you will hear them
Softly whirring, majestically sent to minister to you,
When God answers your prayers- as on Him you call....

The New Year
The New Year it suddenly arrived
And very softly called her name
She was gently awakened from her slumber
And nothing remained the same
She was alive and young again
All hopes reborn all life returned
All fears flung into the abyss
The world was beautiful sealed with a kiss....

I'll just step very softly, tip toe, on this blank page. My inner critic? fast asleep! Perhaps I'll tap dance, lightly, while he snores. For freedom has a jazz band beat ...soon twirling dizzily... Shhh! The prison guard stirs. 9/27/2019 Yalto Poems Only Contest Emile Pinet, Sponsor

Happiness, Wants, Opportunity
Aphorisms, rather than EPIGRAMS (Choices are many in "forms of Poetry")

1. Happiness is not wanting to get what you dream of;
Happiness is wanting what you already HAVE now.

2. LISTEN. Always work on listening skills, for OPPORTUNITY often knocks very softly.

(Ask me about why Jesus is so real to me, about SHALOM)....

Premium Member Ivory Flakes
I love watching the snow fall, very softly and gently to the ground. The blanket turns from summer green, to a blanket of ivory flakes. Once whiter than white, now ivory from the soot in the air. What part do we play, in this changing world we live in. For better or for worse, we all live here together. Maybe one day the ivory flakes, will return to the white snow.

The fabric was already woven,
fine silk
the essence.
On the way out I looked
	for a door,
found silk,
a cocoon.

Then I heard a key
	turning in a lock
and looked.
There beneath a fire breath
an alarm was screaming.
Demons were pleading,
Let me out!

I looked again
and angels reposed
	singing very softly.
The lyrics, the words
	were kind,
and the instruments
played harmony....

Holding On
I want to be there to hold her
as she sleeps peacefully next to me
I'll whisper in her ear very softly
that there is nowhere I would rather be

I want to be there to hold her
if she has a bad dream some night
To comfort and to soothe her so she knows
that everything is going to be all right

I want to be there to hold her
just to hold her as close as she can be
that's when the world simply fades away
I wonder if she knows that the holding of her
is just as much for me...

Last and First Things, Lovella
Last night I had a very strange,
     but lovely dream

One tiny crystal drop of dew
     from nowhere with a gleam

Very softly fell upon my pillow,
     turning it to bright yellow

Erasing the darkness, painting
     the night with heavenly light

Leaving me stunned, wondering
where it came from, where it went

Last thing I forget, first thing I remember
     when I recall the matter

Almighty Heaven gave a gift of love,
called you, to me and your mother....
