There was an old Snot from our group,
who got caught in a 'rotten mood' loop
And he thought he would not
get the upshot he sought
til we'd all brought him lim'ricks on Soup!...

Now
Now is the time
but there’s nothing I can do.
Something is lost, the upshot
of trying hard to chase the gold.
And the ensuing confusion
rattles me on the borderline
with a cursing cold....

Premium Member Backwash
Listen to poem:
The backwash reflection
sent waves seawards
to crash headlong
into the oncoming waves
sending swash and spray skywards.
It was fun to go careering out
and ride the surge, and get upshot
as the two waves met and banged together.
The afterglow of backwash aftereffect
was exhilarating that afternoon....

Trump Sucks
Trump Really Upsets Most People;
This Reality Unsettles Minority Persons.
True Republicans Unhappily Must Proceed.
The Real Upshot Means Pandemonium.
Truth Rarely Understood, Meanness Predominates.
Truthers Retreat, Ugly Men Project.
The Reactionary, Unworthy Media Protects.

Runaway Wagon
Writing is like a runaway wagon...
I start with a destination in mind,
suddenly, thoughts topside take charge.
As my piece is posted, I withdraw the reins.
What I wrote is misinterpreted at will
by a reader who takes off on his own.
And the upshot is: mission blitzed -
my little-read wagon is side-swiped.

Premium Member Squirrels Playing In the Maple Trees-
Lonely upshot woodland creature free
Scratching on the limbs of a maple tree
I found squirrels chattering, leaping, jumping swings
And swinging and hiding from branch limb to limb
Chittering and chattering
Like all the surroundings mattering
Upshot busy woodland creature
Chatter, chatter, chattering features

Premium Member A Solution for Better News

Because of goings-on during the night
the morning news is rarely bright.
I think the problem might be solved
if the planet never revolved
but kept its face in full sunlight
untouched by the evils of night.
That way, morning news might be
less depressing for everybody.
But, then, and a likely upshot
after years of bad news, the shock
of waking up to a world of good news
could be fatal, more bad news....

What Is Life?
An expedition began years ago,
Devoid of a significant Destination,
Christened LIFE.

Making headway,
Encircled by plenteous acquaintances,
“EXPERIENCE” is the upshot.

Progressing ahead,
Corollary of capability,
Precise judgmental ability
Is the effect of “Experience”

Cautious progression,
In profession and personality;
Sensible Relationships,
Overlooking the covetous,
Dedicated and ingenuous,
Undoubtedly a boulevard to “SUCCESS”

Is this really what we call “LIFE”?...
