Runaway Wagon

Writing is like a runaway wagon...
I start with a destination in mind,
suddenly, thoughts topside take charge.
As my piece is posted, I withdraw the reins.
What I wrote is misinterpreted at will
by a reader who takes off on his own.
And the upshot is: mission blitzed -
my little-read wagon is side-swiped.

And I thank you, Eve, for your part in helping me win Emile's contest. I couldn't have entered this piece without your help. In all seriousness, I appreciate your comment and generosity.

This reasoning is sound, no pun on your name intended, my friend.

thank you, Caren, for the comment. The process happens more often with brevity forms (haiku, etc) but has occured in my experience with longer pieces too. Have a great day.
