What was I up to while we were locked-in?
I was busy contemplating sin.
I had months and months of moments to spend,
Ms chaste without, misdeeds within.
Lust, like seasickness - upends reason
and it burns like underbrush fuel.
So dust my DNA, and ID my dirty dreamin'
am I guilty of breaking some rule?

the crossing’s now ash
Lost due to movement
and one lonely splash
Our love abridged? No
devilishly rash
Amy the tier-one junkyard cat upends
When her ‘I don’t care’ cattitude offends
She stalks, strikes, then eats
Has no time for treats
Mice used to be fast food but now are friends
Sputnik the panther jungle cat has fun
Laughing as all the humans try to run
Some run as fast they can
Some stop to make a stand
Either way their denouement has begun
Childhood cavalcade upends
Serial stage pestilence
The kind of poisonous air barricade
That shunts the stitches when they twitch open
Human mind, they said
Stock in storerooms with mascara
Legitimate front to foot the system
With a pedal to the heart attack machine
When fanciful rage chops green
Evenly cut to make the barrage simple
As stacks of fallacy float out the door
All the clown scenery comes tumbling down
Popping-glad roses,
lipstick red,
watered in crystal vase,
small as the ledge
of a pond.

those blossoms, yet to be lit,
with their potential flames.

the sky upends
as we cut the lake
quick white strokes
in the dark current
the flow of bodies
a single bright ripple
somewhere in the space
between the blade tip
and water, it occurs:
the mind releases
the rain falls
silver salt scales
bloom across
our arms and backs
rising, falling
like the breath
of a dragon
coursing out
each jagged
exhalation
all returns to water
the dull roar
in the distant horizon
calls us home
