Waiting for time to catch its breath,
I wrote the words unheard

The Wind Cries Mary
Jimi’s grand apology
hidden in the words
In lyrics of his soul’s lament
Mary’s name is heard

The Jacks are in their boxes
as midnight plays its chord
Music sighing whispers red
— Queen still untoward

Never Really Gone
That ulcer
in his
consciousness
bleeding
to be heard
A canker
of a
muted past
abscessing
every word

Cold sores
of detention
that fade
but never
cure
A virus
of his
hopes and dreams
recurring
— untoward

(Septa R5 Train: May, 2024)

Wherewithal
Do you have the wherewithal
To make each and every call
To continue on through the strife
In the ups and downs of life

Can you carry on then
When it looks it is the end
And take the steps onward
Surviving all things untoward.

Nina Loves Lefty
In bright red paint, beneath my feet,
Was a declaration, short and sweet:
Nina Loves Lefty! but with a heart
Instead of “Loves,” so, urban art.

That’s how graffiti used to be,
Touting one’s identity
Or that of someone much adored
Without a message untoward.

Shuttered Tight
It’s getting late early…
as I wait for the end to begin
Time folding within itself,
shedding its last skin

It’s getting late early…
a lost voice sings my final reward
The outer door shuttered tight
—darkness untoward

Efflorescence
The efflorescent dream to imbue
my opulent languor,whose ripples
vestigial,untoward,hissing,waving
the dalliance quite sneaky peaky.
Is it the murmur of a mellifluous song
yet to be sung by the divine entity!
Is it the penumbra of an ethereal beauty
soothing my bosom with its eternal charm !...

Humanity
Humanity thy thorns burn, tear untoward for you conceive no compassion
Tainted soul seeking kin to participate in wrong
As the disenchanted search a haven in which to belong
Why hate lies strong double pronged in our troubled world
Be every mans cross to bear
Sentiment and words alone constitute not change
Good night god bless suffering doth not digress...

If we be spirit and this form a vessel, affirming that we are boundless like vast space, thus resting thought flow, in our heart we nestle with pulsations of love, inpouring by grace. A rebel, a nerd, we follow not the herd, choosing to rest ego cravings untoward, knowing that if God is, He must be within the cave of our heart, so we go in therein.

Forbidden
Ten second glance, tingles down my skin,
Lingering in my thoughts...too long.
Masquerading to hide my feelings, denied
Longing for excitement, enchantment...love

Take the ladel, stir, stir, stir
Mix, mix, mix...dissolve the lust, desire...longing
Pour in the broth, dilute the untoward emotions.
Erase the wrong.

Make me chocolate decadence tonight
In the harvest moonlight....

when I was beautiful
When I was beautiful

A rose in bloom
a field mouse
Climbed my stem
fell asleep in the center
To inhale and sleep
in my fragrance.
The rave
had no sense of beauty
I was a lure
The struggle was short.
Self-indulgent
I kissed the sun
Nothing untoward
had happened
Summers are so short
To be a revolutionary.
The Rose Revolution
in Portugal ended
now we have
social-democracy

Let Them Be
We often want them to pay attention.
We let them sit and listen every session.

We reprimand the untoward attitude.
We let them take tests to check their aptitude.

We often confine them in the walls.
We let them talk but following the rules.

We often teach then with fervor.
But we let them learn with our favor.

Did we really let them experience to be a student?
If not, please let them be!...

Making the Team
For 2 long years, I really did try,
But every week I just seemed to be passed by.

But then suddenly on the noticeboard, I saw something quite untoward,
Suddenly my life was full of pride,
I'd finally finally made the side.

The other boys seemed to have a natural gift,
Between them and me there seemed to be such a rift.

But I've made it now and I'm full of cheer.
Hey, maybe I will be Captain next year....

The Cinnamon Bazooka Bun is an ardent dough
a pound of sticky heat that dissolves
the tongue in an orgasm of butter.

There is an uncertain pantless fervor here
in the parked Impala, a craven pursuit of the
spiral core, winding mounds of sacchariferous frit

A cop drives by--and we shrink in our non-chalance
our frosted, reunion-phased glaze betrays no chance
that something untoward is not happening here....

All is luminous, self-existent light
And yet we see it not
Being in mind games caught
Look again hermit, with spherical sight

Vast void of space looms within and around
But senses turned outward
And desires untoward
Bemused by illusions, is therein drowned

Doomed to perish is our organic form
Thus what avail is this
If grazed not by God’s kiss
Engulfed fully in His benign bliss storm

Reaching For Xanadu
Skeletons rule the attic,
 rooks have left the board
emptiness I can’t explain,
darkness untoward

Lapses in my memory,
lyrics left unsung
chasing all those things I’m not,
orphan on the run

Monday turns to Thursday,
Tuesday, Wednesday lost
time on fire, burning fast,
sanity the cost

One last chance for freedom,
pathway to the cliff
to jump into my deepest fear
—or sink in this abyss

(The New Room: February, 2022)...

rose revolution
Rose revolution

I was born a beautiful rose
up my stem, a mouse climbed
to inhale my scent and sleep
in the center of my bud
ALAS
The raven came, knows no
sense of beauty
I was an innocent ruse
stealing the beauty
of sleep
my feeling of freshness
self -indulgent kiss words
I saw nothing untoward
I should have seen
Roses are too wonderful
for revolution
A rose uproar in Portugal
quickly strangled
by social democracy

Both bound and free, encased in mind-body, confined using senses looking outward, wherein ego feels it is somebody, separate from source, till we look inward, negating feral cravings untoward, whereupon our emptiness’s magnetised, thought flow rested, nothing is weighed or sized, enabling love to enliven our form, that in timeless time, God is realised; transfigured thus, by a benign bliss storm. 15-April-2022

Meeting begins, each puts best foot forward, in as outer appearances do go, behind banter lurk motives untoward, sweet words incongruent with intent low, just waiting to land a deadly death blow. Weary of blood and gore, been here before, we sift subterfuge and get to the core, our call being, it’s not winner take all, both sides must rejoice, seeking an encore, in righteousness thus, players standing tall. 11-April-2022
